Probably not. I don't even turn when Thai people call me by my nickname (only used by hubby's extended family and neighbors, so about 1/4 of the island anyway :o) . Its not my name, I just don't hear it.

It's all in the title....would you?

Chownah

Undoubtedly yes.

I do get called my nickname, though the English translation (and the many variations thereof). If someone were to call 'suegha', I would, out of curiosity, answer.

Chownah

How would they recognize me?

Chownah

of course i would.

Have you ever seen the " Bourne " films ?

The carnage and wanton destruction simply wouldn't be worth it.

yes i would

What would be the difference ? :o

Sure. I have been using it for upwards of 5 years now.

sure i use it for any download site on the net ..

I'm too old to respond :o

It's been my nickname for many years and more people know me by that than my real first name.

Well I'm practicaly deaf - so I answer anyone who is speaking in my general direction, especially when I havent got my corrective lenses on. :o

I have done but it's usually when being first introduced. But sometimes, when i have only met someone once or twice, they can forget my real name but strangely, they remember MrBoJangles. :o

I get called by my nick or a variation there of regularly so yes I would and do respond. Beats having to answer when someone calls out "hey you the big ugly git in the corner" at least when Austhaied is there I can be fairly confident they are referring to him instead of me :o

CB

yeah. kayo's been one of my nicks since time began.

With regards to me addressing other board members. Usually start with the nick, for simplicity's sake.

Although as I get to know them better i may increasingly alternate to using their real name more often.

If it was somebody I don't know who called out 'Meadish' I am not so sure, but there are some people who I got to know through the Internet, and they knew me as Meadish for several years before meeting me in real life, and now use it over my real name.

I still mostly use their online nicks as well.

It wouldn't be so hard for me as Jeff is my name. However if someone called me Jeff1, I probally would not answer.

Is your real name Jeff, Jeff1? Gawd, I could have never guessed that in my wildest imaginings. A unique and very cleverly devised nik. Who would have thought...

Oops, sorry Jeff. Must have a hair on my tongue. :o

Pong was already taken :D

Having worn a label at Tuskers, possibly summun may call me if they saw me.

Yeah, I would respond.

I was always curious about the Z, Pete. Being a sheep shagger, it would be pronounced 'Zed'. So Zed Pete? Did you sign-up to TV with an expectation of being press-ganged into some form of wiki work (and assumed it would be assigned in alphabetical order)?

You wanted to use my surname? :o

:D
