Exporting A Vespa To Canada

curious if anyone has any experience exporting a motorcycle or scooter?

i have fallen in love with these old vintage vespas im seeing everywhere,

and am thinking about making a purchase and having one shipped home to canada.

someone told me it is not legal for a foriegner (with a visitors visa) to purchase a vehicle?

is this true?

if it is, are there any loop holes?

Why ship when you can buy the same in Toronto and Montreal from an importer? Probably available in Vancouver, too.
