100% disagree, she just didn't suffer fools gladly and TV is a very large shooting gallery.

I agree 100%. There's no doubt that Jet is very intelligent, and ingenious too.

If I called you all wanklettes, how long would I last?

I certainly wouldn't expect you to kiss my ass for it... but she did.

I liked Jet. She was a passionate defender of animals (not humans) and that makes her okay in my book.

interesting that ColPyat has been banned, I am somewhat missing him and I do NOT believe he was a troll. I actually had to agree quite often with his opinion but might have worded it a bit different. This might have been his major problem - he got offensive even if he didn't want to.

Favourite Trolls are weho and The Donz.

Terry57 is not a troll, just a pain. I know from Chaang Paarb that he met him and from what I heard I understand why he is as he is. My offer having a drink with him still stands!

The Dude is certainly not a troll, just funny. Always enjoyed his postings.

Jet a troll....nope. Just offensive and agree with Robski that her attitude was not always easy to cope with. I guess she tried to be funny, just not having the same kind of humour as others.

I'm a noob but so what, I found colpyat and terry both to be insulting on a regular basis, when there was no need for it.

I had the impression that what finally shut up colpyat was revelations about the tactics etc of ambulance crews. He seemed to always be bragging it up about how he was involved in that.

I thought I saw that terry was still around.

I like the guys who are funny. I asked a while back in this forum, what makes even people who aren't trolls, occasionally go into self destruct mode and post themselves into getting banned? A couple of you seemed to think it was a taboo subject at the time -- but it wasn't intended as a critique of moderating, just wondering about how people get to where they basically are doing it to themselves.

I think that it is always a bad idea to post if you are in a bad mood.

I asked a while back in this forum, what makes even people who aren't trolls, occasionally go into self destruct mode and post themselves into getting banned? I use the analogy of drinking. Many people enjoy a drink and on occasion most have imbibed too much and reap the rewards (hangover). Same with posting. Many members post regularly and never get so much as a warning despite putting up some contentious posts. They are also willing to back their beliefs with rational discussion. They are generally regarded as great posters, may not agree with all they say but they make interesting people to talk with.

The obvious trolls are the drunks in the bar that cause everyone else problems. Finally they are ejected and the rest of the patrons get on with their lives. Sometime the bouncers have to be forceful and a few members will say "jeeze that was a bit rough" and others will say "well they took their time about sorting that one - I would have dealt with him straight away".

Occasionally one of our friends goes off on a bit of a binge and gets the tap on the shoulder to quieten down or they will have to leave for a while. Most times that is sufficient and the mates may say "gee, we were just having a bit of fun" and others will say "he is normally ok but sometimes behaves like an idiot"

Very occasionally a friend loses control and drinks to excess. They become beligerent drunks and impossible to deal with. Their friends will try to help but give up under abuse and repeated performance. The person gets into a spin and the only way out is to crash and burn. These are the people you are talking about. They feel a need to go out in a blaze of glory in the mistaken belief that their antics will be discussed in awe for years. In reality it is a sad demise to an often good friendship.

Total waste of time and talent.

Or drunk then! :o

If I had to wait to be sober to post, I would never have made it to Bedders.

This thread is going to be a great source of entertainment, looking up some of these guys.

:o

What about the Greenwanderer ?

He was something..... :o

SBK:

I agree about 'AdventureAsia' but he's a harmless kind of troll I think he doesn't bash, flame or hurting anyone; he's funny :D

LaoPo

Adventure asia, he was just a flash in the pan.

OK this is my fave thread so I am bumping it.

It seems like a guy, was it "Gentleman" something wrote a really funny thread not too long ago, it was way out there.

Apparently he is known as a troll, is that true? Is he another banned one in reincarnation?

OK I will try to find that one I found so amusing, but later.

If I had to wait to be sober to post, I would never have made it to Bedders.

Here here !!! I wouldn't come out my shell if I was sober all the time :o

It's interesting that many of the said posters are now plying their trade on the other site.

Jet was very nice in her early days, then changed to be more aggressive - still had a decent side.

Thaigoon was ok. He had views and was willing to defend them.

Colpyat was not a troll, just had a bit too much upstairs for many on this forum...

Trollish behaviour (winding people up to meet your own unsocial aims) does tend to be exhibited by a group of folk here . A couple on this very thread. I'll call them the invisible fingers.

Terry57 was Terry57, but not a troll.

If trolls are unfunny and doing the attacking minorities thing then they should be given a red card, or just ignored. Some trolls like Weho have a bit of class about them, and are vital for a varried and interesting forum.

If I had to wait to be sober to post, I would never have made it to Bedders.

didn't know that it is possible to post when sober...anywone tried it? How does it feel?

What about the Greenwanderer ?

He was something..... :o

Apparently he is still around. Used to be some sort of a weho, but with a different edge. Reading his recent posts, he got a better grip of reality now compared to one or two years ago...

Meanwhile... the Troll colpyat persists with his disruptive and deranged efforts to get back onto Thaivisa....

How do you know it's him? Anyway if it is and he blows his chance again then hasta la vista.

He freely admits to it in his posts before they are deleted.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showuser=59594

I read his post and didn't see anything offensive. What was it about this post that was disruptive and deranged?

Anytime a thread is pock-marked with post deletions, it's disruptive.

Anytime a troll enters a thread and creates ID's and posts that require deletions from mods and banishment from admin, it's disruptive.

It's also disruptive and creates an additional and unnecessary workload for mods to go through and modify and/or delete posts from other members that contain quotes from deleted posts.

Someone that has been banned a half dozen times within a week and still keeps stalking an internet forum is the other adjective.

Colpyat wasn't a complete troll. Actually talked to him through the PM system on a few occasions.

He was just very opinionated about his view point on life. He seemed to get a lot of satisfaction from winding people up who didn't share his views & seemed to have no idea about when he crossed the line and started really pissing people off.

See the above quote. Somebody who posts with the intention of winding people up is pretty much the textbook definition of a troll. It really doesn't matter how knowledgeable that troll is or how much of a genuine genius (to quote UG) they are.

Got you on that and he did that on occasion, although I was brought up in the "sticks and stones" way of life. Also, since there is anonymity, where is the personal offense? Anyway, call him a troll or whatever, he sure is entertaining.

As far as I can see if this Colpyat guy or any of the other acknowledged trolls could have access to this thread they would be rolling in the ailes and splitting their sides with laughter.

We're all here discussing them so in the troll book and 6 pages later that makes them successful.

There is the power of FREE WILL with trolls. If you choose to be wound up then you will get yourself into trouble.

If you choose to ignore then you won't.

Some trolls are entertaining and add spice,if they are banned (OK three times in a week is a bit over the top) they have hopefully learnt their lesson and should be allowed to reincarnate themselves proving they follow the rules. As someone mentioned, the flamers are the ones who should be given the heave ho permanently.

A brethalyser should be installed on the computer for anyone who wants to log in here and post troll or no troll.People lose it when pissed.

If three times is "a bit over the top", how about nine in a few weeks?

And you want to let them rejoin as "reformed" trolling stalkers? :o

The original Gentleman can't post, so it was someone who has copied his nick closely, but not exactly. :o
