Abondoned Construction Site

Featured Replies

Whats the story with that abandoned construction site directly opposite Nana bts (cnr soi 6 and suk). Was it going to be a condo and why hasn't anyone else taken over the project? Brilliant location that's for sure

Just one of hundreds of abandoned projects after the 97 crash.

I see a few more recent additions to the list, including the Regent at Soi 11.

Could pose a danger for young children, who might play there, power headsup. :o:D:D

PP is correct, it is a foreclosed asset. Plenty of people have tried to acquire this from Bangkok Bank but all have failed, mostly (I believe) because the Bank wants it for themselves.

An eyesore, but brilliant site. Immediately next to it, and before Pacific Place, another empty site, which had shanty housing, since demolished. Haven't been there for a while, is that now a construction site, as after the demolition of the shanties, other rubbish was being dumped there? Very gradually it would seem a lot of these abandoned sites are being built, but some of the best located, such as the one you mention and for example the sister to State Tower, on the river and between Silom and Sathorn, remain skeletal ghosts; ditto the site of four, (or five?) condo (?) towers on Rama III, before SV City, on the river.
