I just discovered an interesting irony in Webster's Dictionary...the next word defined after the entry for "Penis" is "Penitent." How true for many of us!!!!

Penitent - feeling or expressing remorse for one's misdeeds or sins.

Penitent - very cheap marquee.

More a double entendre than a double meaning (and a bit of a long lead-up to a pathetic finish)

In the Eighties I worked in Behghazi and we had a darts league Brits/Swedes/Poles/Libyans/others

One Thursday night we had a party and there were a lot of new Polish hospital staff there.

I was in my usual place - propping up the bar - and next to me was one of my darts team members - Muftah.

One of the new nurses came up to the bar and Muftah offered her a cigarette. "I don't smoke" she says.

Undeterred Muftah offers her a whiskey (well it was brown and strongly alcoholic) "I don't drink" she says.

And follows this up with the non-sequitorial "I don't eat meat, either"

Neither Muftah nor I could stand up for about ten minutes.
