Daily News. March 31.

At 9.30 pm Saturday there was an explosion on bus no 99 near the Pratunam crossroads.

When police arrived they found a pool of blood on the floor and the engine cover near the driver's seat destroyed.

A 24 year old man was taken to the Police Hospital but succumbed to his injuries, he had been sitting on the long seat near the engine.

A loud explosion from the engine at the front of the bus had blown off the engine cover, hitting the victim sitting nearby.

The explosion terrified the remaining passengers as they feared it was a bomb, so once the bus stopped there was chaos as passengers hurried to get off.

Authorities don't yet know the cause of the explosion, the bus, privately owned, had been converted to NGV

Please don't tell me that the conversion from diesel to NGV hasn't been done with the utmost care for the safety of all!
