Service Pack 2 Related?

Featured Replies

I've just installed Service Pack 2 and am now having problems with Outlook Express. Does anyone know what this Outlook error message refers to?

Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Redirected', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x80004005

Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Redirected', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x80004005

Since this is new I'm being lead to believe that Service Pack 2 is related.

Hotmail should still work but believe it requires Windows Messenger so perhaps the new firewall does not allow that program to connect to internet? I use Zone Alarm and have given it access in that firewall.

Outlook express still works with hotmail for me SP2 on 4 different systems may be the particular server you are on is down...

when I installed SP2 it said something about repairing MSN messenger, maybe you need to reinstall that :o
