Hospitals, (again)

Featured Replies

My girlfriend and I are 6 weeks pregnant and I am doing the rounds of researching hospitals. Currently looking at BNH, Samitivej (both thanks to various post here).

However, I"m also thinking of St Louis, which I've not seen mentioned, and also where my girlfriend went to confirm her pregnancy which is the Police Hospital in Chidlom.

As best I understand there is no English speaking doctor there, which obviously is important. Anyone have any experience or know anything about either of them?

Believe you would be hard pressed to find any hospital without doctors that speak English - it may not be that good (but in many cases it is) but if your girlfriend is Thai believe Thai speaking is what is important.

Saint Louis is often spoken of as a good private hospital at a good price in the medical forum. And in my brief experience there level of English is very high.

St Louis has a good reputation, for being a good hospital with reasonable prices (it's a non profit organisation), but I don't have 1st hand experience there.

We did our initial consultations at St. Louis, but eventually got tired of them. In response to our request for a natural birth, "Ok, we'll try that first..." Be sure to check out the small, windowless room that your wife will have labor in while they're waiting for her to dilate.
