Brake Pads

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Sent my Civic 06 for 40,000 service and maintenance to honda and they called up about the front brake pads that needs to be replaced. gave me a quote of 2,200 baht and i told them no thank you. went into a tyre shop that i go to for my tyre work and they suggested i change to Bendix brake pads. supposed to be good?

asked how much and its 2,200 for the pads and 400 baht for the labour. total 2,600. is that the average price to get brake pads replaced???

I remember having a car in malaysia and paying not more than 1,000 for the pads and labour. Bendix of course.

Seem to remember the last time I did it here (CM) it was about 600 Baht/brake including labor.

That comes out to 2400 Baht for 4 brakes on mine and that was a few years ago, so your prices seem in-line with mine. Plus, mine was done at a shop and not the dealer (Nissan is a real ripoff on repairs) so seems right to me.

I have a civic and that price is about correct. If you don't do it at honda, they maybe you can try the bendix metal king brake pads. Fod high performance (high temps and heavy braking) driving try bendix ultimates (apparently good, but maybe they will dust more and wear faster).

I got all 4 disks rotors and new pads all round for the e34 BMW 520i I have for just under 10,000baht.

pretty good deal, Bendix pads with new rotors.

2200 for 2 brake pads would be standard for good brake pads (that's about the same they asked for my cr-v at honda. not sure about the brand - but i think they said it was "honda original" if i remember right).

btw, I changed my back break pads for 6-800B a pair plus ~400 for labour. works alright, but I get some screeching noises sometimes when I brake. honda mechanic says its nothing to worry about, but the pads are low quality...
