One-2-call

How can one change ones One-2-Call tariff to one-year duration, so that the top-up amount is good for one year, rather than one or two weeks? Tried their webpage, but all info is in Thai only.

I believe their packages include one called "Sawasdee", which enables you to buy THB1000 (not sure?) and get 1 year validity. Best to go to one of their offices...Silom Complex, or Siam Square.

Either you call them (they have an English speaking service) or you visit their offices.

Be careful when you change, they do have quite a few plans and all differ from each other. Changing to the one year plan may also change the rates.

I'm assuming that the OP let his time balance run down since the system used to be a max of 2 years, but the recent round of promotions reset accounts to a max of a year.

Try *777 and review the 'promotions', by selecting one you may {I've not tried this} extend your validity to 1 year, might cost you a few baht for the package.

It might be that you can not change it to one year validity. I have this option on one SIM card. I had to buy a special one. I even tried to change back the option to other promotions, but it is not possible. Yes, you should go to one of their sales points and get some advise there.

I find the one year option very useful. Don't have to put in a lot of money. Rates are a bit expensive, but if you use it for just a few calls it's ok.

I did this by just calling their service centre, they will apply the un-un promotion, or whatever it is called now, and then you have to top up with at least 100 baht, and you will instantly receive one year validity.

Then subsequent top ups will not add any time duration. But after six months, I topped up again and recieved another one year on top of the previous validity.

I did a quick search found this is earlier threads...

"If you are wanting to use a mobile and you are planning on visiting Thailand at least once a year, or even more frequently, a pre-paid DTAC Sim is the one to go for. You can dial *1013 and then extend your service for up to 360 days, ensuring the validity and functionality of your DTAC sim (and you keep the same number) for that entire period. The cost is 12THB per 180 day extension."

And for One-2-Call:

"Call their call center at *122# and send, and choose english (option 2)

Ask for the promotion called Sawadee Un Un, they will activate this promotion and when you then top up with at least 50 baht, your validity is extended with 365 days. Of course there is a catch: you need to make a phone call every three months to keep the sim active. No problem either, activate international roaming by entering *125*1# and then send. Now when you are back in your home country you can call by using 131 (country code) (phone number) # and send. One minute costs 50 baht, so make sure you have enough credit to make the number of calls you have to make in order to keep the sim active."

Generally One-2-Call/AIS are incredibly responsive and helpful, IME. Contact them at 1175 from your mobile or via email [email protected] .

I just tried this service number and a response came back on my screen "This service is not available in while you are in Thailand"
