Sensational News: Ingrid Betancourt + 3 Americans rescued in Colombia

I know it's not Thailand related but still think a lot of members will welcome the news that Ingrid Betancourt, who was kidnapped by the FARC in Colombia, in February 2002, was rescued today, together with 3 other Americans

No LaoPo, it is not Thai related but still uplifting news, 8 years in limbo and a rescue out of the blue, something to shout about, I'd say.

Also informative, I did not know that Columbian forces were finally driving FARC into more inaccessible places, last I heard they were recruiting outside operatives to train their troops and were, as a consequence being more effective.

So on two counts, good news.

There was amazing real live footage on CNN and I suppose most of you have seen it on television by the time you read this.

It was a spectacular rescue operation by the Colombian forces.
