Just a comment for the "age police" out there - As I have stated previously, she showed no reservations concerning age difference for the past year. The relationship started strong and continued to progress. She inquired several time about my Father, who lives overseas and asked me to send him her picture. Yes, I am young enough to have a living Father. I am sure some of you think he must be at least age 150+ AND, believe it or not, I still have all my teeth & don't need viagra. Things cooled off when I refused numerous requests to upgrade & increase monetary allotments, some at the behest of her parents. If I had been willing to so provide, I am sure the relationship would still be going. My present love is 24 and enjoys the physical part of our relationship quite well. I just brought this topic up, because I never heard this "good girl" excuse used before by anyone. My opinion is that there is some truth to her concern that a Thai lady with foreigner, particularly without benefit of marriage, is viewed with disdain & suspicion by some judgemental Thais. This MIGHT have impacted her nursing career at some point. However, the real bottom line was money.

Well, not surprisingly the Farangs who claim they never gave or give their GF or wives money have come out of the woodwork. I don't know where they may live, but I never met such a case in my four years here. ALL, the foreign men I know here, young & old, hand over money in one form or another, in either hefty sin sod, gold, houses, cars, monthly allowences, etc, etc. There may be a handful of Farang married to or with Thai women of independent financial status, but I have personally never met such a couple. (Who are living in Thailand). On the other hand, if I said I never gave this girl money, I would be accused of being a "cheap charlie" by other detractors. Everyone is welcome to their opinion, I base my evaluations on what I have seen first hand.

Well to be clear I am a traditional man, and although my girlfriend is not Thai she is traditional as well. I pay for just about everything, food, getting around etc... the regular manly things to do. But we share the rent, we have bought eachother small gifts over the years... really, all the normal stuff you would do back in your own country. I just dont understand men here that think its acceptable to pay a woman a salary? Or the family?! This situation is called prostitution. I've dated poor (working on a 8 to 14k a month salary) Thai girls, money never came up, it simply didnt. I paid for the traditional stuff men pay for but a salary or gifts? No way. Thank you for setting the record straight. I have also seen many ladies doing exactly what you describe, with whomever is willing, Thai or Farang. Of course this is not unique to Thailand or Thai women, but it much more commonplace than I would find back home. Much of it goes on "under the radar" & out of sight.
