I’m very confused about who legally may go first on a crossing of equal type of roads bearing no specific signs. In most countries that would be the one coming from the right, and about everybody you’d ask, would give you the correct answer to that question. However in Thailand the matter seems not so easy.

According to the link in this forum (http://freebeerforyorky.com/driving.html)

“…the 'rules' state that drivers give way, in most instances, to traffic from the right, …”

According to the teacher at the ID-Driver school in Khon Kaen, the above is not correct. It should be the one coming from the left.

In their manual it reads as follows:

According to the tourist police officers in Khon Kaen:

“… this is a very complicated situation (2 cars at the same time at a crossing), no way to tell who may go first. It is a matter for the judge.” :o

Hi bmore99, using Thai logic, once you see the other vehicle floor it! That way you will not be at the intersection at the same time. Works 99.9% of the time! :o
