Cost Of Road Tax?

Featured Replies

Sorry, I did search but can't seem to find anything about this.

Road tax is due next month. 3 Year old Honda Jazz sport.

Anybody recently renewed who can give me an idea of cost?

Also, it is on finance and they hold the blue book. Do I need to get a copy from them in order to renew?

Many thanks

HoJo

Probably not more than 1500 Baht. After the fifth year you will get discount. :-)

You or your finance company will need to pay the tax and the Land Transport office need the Blue book to show the payment.

What did you do last year? Should be the same

The original post didn't say he bought the car new so maybe last year he was riding a bike?

All those Jazz owners out there and nobody can type "it costs XXXX baht" come on put HoJo out of his misery.

The tax will be about 1,500 Baht give or take a few hundred. (One of the neigbours has a '06 Jazz.)

The process to get the blue book stamped is achieved by one of two methods, as explained to me when looking at a car on finance. Easiest route is to contact the finance company and explain you wish to extend the road tax and compulsory insurance, they will carry out these tasks, get the blue book updated and present you will a bill and the new windshield sticker. It is wise to ask that they send you a photocopy of the updated blue book so that you know that it is done and you have a copy for your own records.

Or you can take the documents that you have, go to the land transport office of your choice, pay the fees directly get the sticker and pass this information back to the finance company, with copies so it is 100% clear what you are telling them - they will go and get the blue book updated - after which as mentioned above it is wise to get a photocopy that this has been done. It might be a little cheaper to do the running around yourself as I would expect the finance company to charge a small fee for this service.

That would be too much to ask for
The OP asks a clear question and is polite - why wouldn't a road tax question it be answered here? Have a nice day. :o

Only 329 to go!

Thanks guys. I'll have a chat to the finance company to see if they can do it for me.

Somebody did tell me you can get it done at 7-11 but that can't be right can it? Maybe they meant the compulsory insurance?

Cheers!
