Anyone who know how long time it takes with a taxi from U-Taphao airport to Ban Phae, Rayong.

Also interested in information about good hotels near Mae Ramphueng Beach and Ban Phae, Amphuer Muang , Rayong Province.

By taxi it shouldn't take more than 30 mins.

Accom in Ban Phe isn't that good but its OK for a night or two. The Diamond is an OK place.

There is also an hotel called the Pines in Ban Phe,its a little way down the beach,last time I stayed it was about B800,busy at the weekend,but quiet weekdays

I have been on phone with Thai Beach Hotel, Ban Phae.

Do any of you know that place. They asked 1500,- Baht pr. night.

I asked them about the distance from U-Taphao and they told me about

"90 minutes" with taxi and about 1000,- Baht for the trip.

That was new info to me and will maybe make me consider flying to Bangkok instead of U-Taphao.

In truth it sounds expensive! I don't know the hotel but no way is it 90 minutes or 1000B from U Tapao to Ban Phe (unless you're on the <deleted> public bus which stops at every lampost)
