(seen that ad before....possibly on tele...but have to admit, wasnt impressed eventhough there is chocolates involved!)

maestro......I dont quite manage 30 bars a week though

just about a block bar a day :D

(but I think the granny's ones are about 60G a bar? my blocks are either: 200G if cadbury, probably 170G if kitkat, and either 100 or 125 G of Lindt....:D )

someone do the maths and tell me if Im heading in granny's direction?

eek. I find that ad slightly disturbing. I keep thinking about a chocolate willy! Or is it just me?!? :o

Just you! :D

someone do the maths and tell me if Im heading in granny's direction?

If you just stick to Cadbury, you aren't far off sweetie.

Just you! :D

Don't tell me you didn't think about his chocolate willy eek, I won't believe you!

It may be a bloke thing, i dont know. But, i cross my heart tiggy, until you mentioned it, it seriously hadnt crossed my mind! Ive seen the ad a lot of times on Thai tv too.

I would tell you the truth if I had thought that, you know I would. I often honest to a fault..some would even maybe call it foot two feet in mouth disease. :D

this is to remain a non sexual thread

we dont discriminate against gender on here...gender blind

anyone can enjoy chocolates. :o

Ill even share :D

Talking about the maths, there's something you've been keeping your little secret isn't there?

Scientists reveal how eating chocolate can help improve your maths

Eating chocolate could improve the brain's ability to do maths, a new study suggets.

Mental arithmetic became easier after volunteers had been given large amounts of compounds found in chocolate, called flavanols, in a hot cocoa drink.

They were also less likely to feel tired or mentally drained, the findings, presented at the British Psychological Society annual conference in Brighton show.

Prof David Kennedy, director of the brain, performance and nutrition research centre at Northumbria University, and a co-author of the study, said that chocolate could be beneficial for mentally challenging tasks.

The findings suggest students who binge on chocolate when revising for exams may gain a real benefit from doing so.

A tax on choc? ...

If ever there should be a chocolate tax it should be a tax payable by people who do not eat chocolate, to subsidise the price of chocolate for those who have the healthy habit of eating it.

By the way, I tried this relatively new Lindt chocolate but prefer the plain old milk chocolate any time.

Diet choc you can breathe

SCIENTISTS have invented a chocolate with zero calories which dieters can INHALE.

Users breathe chocolate powder into their mouth from the £1.50 plastic cylinder called Le Whif.

It comes in four flavours — raspberry, mint, mango and plain — and can be used several times.

For those who live and breathe chocolate, a puff

Chocoholics rejoice: A Harvard professor has invented a calorie-free way of experiencing the sweet obsession - by inhaling it.

Biomedical engineer David Edwards has created a mini-inhaler - dubbed Le Whif - that shoots a chocolate mist into one's mouth, mimicking, he says, the experience of savoring the real thing. The price tag is about $2 for four puffs.

Ya can take your 'LeWhif' and stuff it where the sun don't shine!

Lindt started it, now another Swiss manufacturer produces a chocolate with chili. Other varieties I find interesting are tiramisù and panna cotta.

Ooooh, the red hot chilli sounds good...

Ive had a lot of chili ones from Italy

also from green and black

and of course the lindt ones too. but what i like from Lindt is the Cherry Intense flavour. strangely, its not always available in most supermarkets in Aus

you see more of the chili ones, or orange ones.

Maestro - Arnotts' tim tam biscuits come in a lot of those similar flavours. and cadbury chocolates have similar range.

Creme Bulee

tira misu

etc etc

forgot to mention that Ive also tried their

Fudge brownies

and Boysenberries ones

have to say they were both too sweet for me. so are the other dessert flavoured ones. they are good, but not something Id eat on a regular basis. just a bit too much.

(I had high expectation for the fudge brownies.....who wouldnt. look at that mouth watering pic on the packaging!)

So I see that Frey is copying from Cadbury. Shame on them. Now, a durian chocolate would be innovative, and I would have a few more ideas if they hired me as a consultant.

an ex-g.f. from waaaaaaaaaay back (27 years ago) found me. She's Swiss, and was so full of glee, she asked via email what I wanted from Switzerland. I said a piece of chocolate. She wound up sending me a toaster sized box full of highest quality bars - not once, but twice!

A couple were 100% chocolate which, as you know, is bitter. I found taking a slight little bit, along with fresh banana - made a great taste treat.

Another true story: years ago, I corresponded with many gals from various countries (years before email). All romantic/erotic sorts of stuff. One chocolate colored beauty from Madagascar sent me a letter - gushing on and on about the delightful box of hand-made chocolates she had rec'd in the mail from me. I was miffed. A day later, I got another letter from her, saying "sorry, I got my wires crossed, the box of chocolates actually came from a chef in London." Can't recall whether she took back her plethora of 'thank you's.

haha, awww sorry she was 2-timing distance dating you :)

how very modern :D

but thanks for sharing your chocolate stories.

speaking of sharing, a friend in Manila advised me today that the rare Max Brenner shop in Asia had closed its door. such a shame. its truly one of the best chocolate bars you can find.

but he then advised that this Royce Chocolate place has opened in Manila

more info about them here:

Royce in Manila

my friend tells me its really really good, melt in your mouth type chocolate
