Bnp Members List Leaked

Featured Replies

Well this has ruffled a few feathers in blighty.

BNP members have told BBC News they have received threatening and abusive phone calls and e-mails after a leaked document was published online.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/7736794.stm

It looks as though many in professional positions are likely to lose their jobs, in particular police, teachers, those in the media and forces personel.

Having been made redundant just this week I would not normally wish such a thing upon anybody, but this is one of those occasions when I can't help but to think "Som num na", with a smile.

For sure there will be alot of ignorant racist bigots having sleepless nights in the UK tonight.

Extremists are always falling out amongst themselves.

When they're in power the far right and the far left are constantly purging their ranks of those who may not be true to the party line.

This guy has just shown that the internet is equal to, if not mightier than, the sword.

I suppose, for those non British members here, it would help if it was explained somewhere in the post what the acronym BNP related to.

Sorry.

The BNP is the British Nationalist Party, a white supremacist 'political party'.

I had thought that myself chavy.

Although any organisation that allows white members only is quite a strong statement in itself.

An article on the BBC website today.

The BNP can never make itself respectable

Conditions ought to be ripe for the far Right. But the unsavoury militancy of its activists will always repel the voters.

This coming period was - it hoped, and its enemies feared - to be the British National Party's time. Unemployment is rising substantially, and so might the demand for “nationalist” solutions - in which work-grabbing foreigners over here and business-grabbing foreign goods over there, will be given the elbow through cuts in immigration and trade protectionism.

It seemed like that for a while in the mid-1970s too. Unemployment was on the up and there was a sense of national decline. In the 1973 West Bromwich by-election, the National Front, the BNP of its day, in the burly shape of its national organiser, Martin Webster, won more than 16 per cent of the vote. This despite his his unfortunate promise to “build a well-oiled Nazi machine” in Britain.

Paradoxically, as the economy got worse, the NF's fortunes ebbed. Partly this was because of the reaction its success provoked, with organisations such as the Anti-Nazi League being set up to expose the awkward political ancestry of the NF's leading cadres. But the full-scale massacre of jobs that followed the 1979 election gave no benefit whatsoever to the far Right. By then even the pro-Enoch dockers of 1968 were beginning to realise that Britain was a multiracial society.

We are not a militant lot, and far-left and far-right groups have fared worse in Britain than in other countries. They traditionally blame the electoral system for this, arguing that were they able to get a toe in the door the whole fragrant body might follow. But since 1997 we have tested this proposition with proportional representation elections in Scotland, Wales, London and for Europe, and the voters still show a marked reluctance to support extremists. The gain of a London Assembly seat by the BNP last May has led to no dramatic (or undramatic) rise in its support.

I'm afraid that any organization that is limited to one race does not have good intentions toward other races. :o

Indeed - if one were to apply the same 'test' to the UK's Black Police Officers Association, or even common working practices seen/experianced within Thailand amoung other countries...?

Yip. It seems that everyone else can have an association to do with their colour and creed......except if you are white :D

MOWO Awards (Music Of White Origin) wouldn't be too well received by the PC brigade!!

I'm struggling to think of MOWO.

Oh, Kenny rogers, Cliff Richard and Frank Sinatara.

Get down with it.

Don't mention AC/DC, It's all their fault! :o

AC/DC linked to economic crisis with Black Ice

FINANCIALLY the country's already on the highway to hel_l but that has not stopped the British from pointing the finger of blame at AC/DC.

The ageing Aussie rockers have hit the top of the UK album charts for the first time in 28 years with their latest and 18th album Black Ice, outselling their nearest rival for the spot Kaiser Chiefs a rate of two to one.

But the British press have analysed the last times the heavy rockers hit the spot and found a link to their big selling records and an economy teetering on the brink of recession.

When they formed in Australia in 1973, the economies of the northern hemisphere were being tested with the beginning of the oil crisis. AC/DC's breakthrough Back in Black topped the charts in 1980 as inflation in the UK hit 20 per cent and unemployment came close to the psychologically unsettling two million mark.

As the economy recovered, the band's popularity diminished but again they made a mark on the album charts in 1990 with the Razor's Edge, again before the worst recession in a decade.

"People crave something uncomplicated and dependable in a time of uncertainty and rock music has never produced a band so uncomplicated and dependable as AC/DC," The Guardian suggested in a front page review.

Black Ice has already sold more than five million copies - the British economy is suffering negative growth for the first time in 16 years, expects to see two million people out of work and the sterling has crashed to a 20 year low - and is Number 1 in Australia and its emergence at the top could be something more to do with a revival in heavy metal, according to industry insiders.

Thanks OC. A nice, quirky piece of (albeit transparent) tongue-in-cheek. (See: Newspapers can troll too! The writer(s) will be crowded around the letterbox waiting for all those angry letters to the editor from die hard acca dacca fans - especially of the expat Aussie variety!)
