November 25, 200817 yr I am a Singaporean with a limited budget looking to rent or buy a second hand car in Bangkok. Totally clueless where to start. I'll be going on 6-9th December and need help for some sources where I could start looking. I'll need these car for 1-2 years for some small business there. Would greatly appreciate if anyone here can recommend some trusted, honest and reliable agents or dealers that deals with cheap car rental or sells second hand cars with wide selection. Mainly looking at japanese cars e.g. Honda, Toyota preferred, if not nissan. Thanks in advance.
November 25, 200817 yr Author Hi Thanks for the website, I can't read Thai, so I'll pass my thai friend in BKK to check out. Welcome any other recommendations, preferrably in English if possible. Otherwise, thai is fine. Thank you.

They're a bit more expensive than buying from a private seller, but the peace of mind that comes from knowing you have a decent car is priceless and any savings would be wiped out by a single repair bill anyway. They have branches all over the country and their inventory is searchable online
November 25, 200817 yr Expat Motors http://www.expatmotors.co.th/index.html is also worth a look "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
November 26, 200817 yr > I'll need these car for 1-2 years for some small business there. Find a place that will rent you a car for a month or two (note high season prices!) while you sort out your WP and accomidation etc. Then you can look for one to buy via the local papers and web sites, you don't need to read Thai - look at enough pages and you will be able to work out what 'says' engine size, price etc. If you are using the vehicle for business look into insurance and tax issues, company registered vehicles incure double the tax than privately owned ones. November 29, 200817 yr I have a Toyota yaris for rent/sale. Year 2006. See PM for details. regards, Nick
November 29, 200817 yr Author What is Toyota Sure? I have a friend in Bangkok to handle the small business. So I won't really be residing in Bangkok to run it on a day to day basis, probably visit 2-3 days every month or so. But with the protest at the airport, wonder when it'll resolve, my trip probably will be postponed... Nick, have replied you. Thanks.
November 30, 200817 yr The OP has a "limited budget" So i don't think he can afford something for a couple 100 k. In this case i think japanese cars are aout of his range. It's depend on how old the car should be. To the OP: What price is in your mind? How much you looking to pay for rent or buy?

In Singapore, I'm driving a Honda CR-V, but don't have the same budget for another car in Bangkok. My monthly budget is 10-11K baht, so likely going for rent. Just for curiosity, will the authorities find out if I drive my CR-V into bangkok and left it there for long-term use? What actions will they take?

But i'm not sure about the details. there is better ifyou check with the immigration or custom. Same thing if i go th cambo. I can drive my car overthere without any problems on Thai plates, but there i have to pay a 100 Baht per day to the cambodians.
