Christmas Dinner

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Anyone able to recommend somewhere good to experience a decent Christmas dinner somewhere in the Karon/Kata area? Last time I was here for Christmas, a few years ago, I remember getting royally ripped off for a sorry excuse for festive fare.

I realise Christmas isn't a Thai event per se but if anyone knows somewhere good, please share :-)

Cheers!

Don's - down in Rawaii - always has a great Chritmas buffet - Turkey, ham, dressing, the works. And usually for a reasonable price. Take a meter taxi - it's worth the trip. It's where I always go for major holidays. It's worth the 15 minute ride.

The Beefeater in Karon does great food, I guess the Karon Cafe would also do a Christmas Lunch.

Kata - Anchor Bar does a great Christmas dinner as does the Coffee Pot across the road from it.

Dons is worth the drive to Rawai, I had Christmas lunch there last year and it was quite good and well priced at about 250 - 300 baht.

The Beefeater in Karon does great food

Alas i went to go eat there the other day and the place is an empty shell, unless they have moved locations (couldnt see a sign or anything) The Beefeater is no more :o

I think now that Maurice has opened up that 'Irish Pub", his clients might of followed him - I cant remember the name of his new place, but Im sure the food would be just as good. If you go further into the soi, past the Beefeater and then go down and turn right, it is on the corner across from the ? hotel (tall building :D ). follow that ? :o

Yes, Maurice is indeed cooking up a treat at 'Angus O' Tool's' (note, no 'E' on the end of the name....?)

I ate in The Beefeater a number of times but, good though the food was, the lack of smiles in that place always confounded me - thus I wasn't overly surprised to see the for-lease sign outside it upon my return in October....

So, Anchor it is then :D

Thanks guys!

Wasnt Angus O'tool's the place that caught fire a few months back?

Good to hear he's recovered from his little "set-back" and is open for business again.

Maybe we should organise a ThaiVisa.com xmas party... at The Anchor Bar, of course :o

Yes, I believe they did have a small fire at O'Tool's though it was nothing on the scale of what happened on the beachfront last month thankfully.

So, The Anchor Bar - Xmas Day afternoon it is and everybody is invited :D
