January 25, 200917 yr This cop hat provides shelter for the men in brown doing duty at Sathorn and Surasak in Bangkok.
January 25, 200917 yr Good to see you around corky... haven't seen you posting your usual strange/corkscrew-centric pictures in awhile Those hat thingys are all over BKK.... Have you seen the newest addition: the accompanying statue of a policeman? Been seeing more and more of those around intersections lately... at times I actually think it's a cop - except I would guess that the statues are about 7-8 feet tall (and no cop is that shiny... figuratively and literally)....
January 25, 200917 yr (and no cop is that shiny... figuratively and literally).... And 98% are not that slim either Yup, the hats are actually all over Thailand, pretty cheesy really. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
January 26, 200917 yr We even have them up here in Issan together with the cardboard cut-out coppers. Welcome back Corky, I nearly forgot you have a Mucky Benz having not seen a picture for a while. Dave

January 26, 200917 yr They are a great thing....they double as shelters for motorcycle taxi drivers when it rains
January 26, 200917 yr Have you missed a story where one Thai guy got drunk and stole a cop twice life size cop action figure from a police booth? He installed it in front of his own shop instead. When they found him they forced him to wai the dummy. I bet it was good fun for everyone involved.
