Twitter

Featured Replies

Supposed to be the latest 'chat' thing since Facebook. Celebs etc are using it, Barak Obama, Stephen Fry...

No, but am a new person on Facebook - rather odd, lots of people want to be my friend... who i don't know.

Facebook is OK if you keep it in the family and amongst close friends.

Agree Sceadug.... god why is your nickname so difficullt ???

Some of the less charitable members would say it's because I am.

It's just a name I saw in a book and liked it.

It's an old Anglo-Saxon word for shadow walker or shape changer.

Don't believe him Nampeung, it's his real name, his surname is even more difficult.

Isn't twitter a photo sharing community?

No, that's Flickr

Twitter is:

"Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?"

In other words mobile phones for the internet - "Hiya I'm on the train" :o

Yes Moss dear!!! Anyway... Twitter, so far, sounds silly to me but I am open to suggestions for its good points. Obama apparently used it during his campaign! I think anyone can access your postings of 'what are you doing'. Doh !

I thought that was email or SMS ?

Would it not be more correct to say Twitter is for those seeking publicity?

A twit, one who speaks rubbish

To Twitter: (of a person) to talk in an excited or nervous manner

Guess that sums up Twitter, is for twits.

I don't like any of these 'social networking sites'. I can't really see the point. My wife spends ages on facebook and I just think, why???

ps If I get one more email saying 'I want to be your friend'... I feel like replying 'Err, I am your friend!'

Better that than to get NO emails from people wanting to be your friend. :o

YOur so sweet tigs..! :D

I share your first thoughts, however, when it comes to the "p.s"..im afraid my thoughts go along the lines of "Who the F... are you?? What do you mean you want to be my friend..?!". :o

...However, in my defense, i did used to have a page on um..i forget..maybe was facebook.. anyway, I put some photos up and had it set at default public. Got messages from people wanting to be my friend with messages along the lines of "can i see a full length pic of you please?", "do you have any pics in your underwear?", "hi sexy, i wanna..........(insert stupid comment pertaining to sex here)". The idea of some 15 year old kid or sweaty old man getting his rocks off making dumb comments and "wanting to be my friend" made me uncomfortable! :D I set it to private, but after a short time of using it i got bored of maintaining anything. Oh well..

Ah well, ya see, I would never post photos of my self for public consumption. The ladies wouldn't be able to contain themselves!!!

ps sorry, only friends of mine have asked to be friends of mine...

How I wonder....?
