On Nut Square? Not sure exactly where the "square" would be, but there's a large beer garden / food centre / market right by the Skytrain station, opposite Tesco Lotus. Good place to hang out with a couple of beers and eating some decent (but, be warned, some also not so decent) Thai food and beer snacks.

I wouldn't make a special trip out there for the shopping though, it's mainly your typical cheap Thai market goods. Could be worth stopping by if you're in the area, or perhaps making a special journey if you want to hang out in a Thai style beer garden and listen to some live music - but Suan Lum it ain't.

on the opposite side to the square at the bottom of the bts stop the little market there is good for womens clothes and accessories ,its a little cheaper than suan lum,not quite as funky but worth checking out! best to go after 8pm when all the stalls are open.

The night market next to On Nut BTS is targetted at the office girls returning from work and the bar girls going to work, all clothing stalls, 99.99% for those of the female persuasion. The adjacent daytime food market also has a few clothes stalls, mostly for women also. There's an outdoor beergarden with live music too. Across the road inside the Tesco building are some stalls with knick-knack-type stuff and the usual suspects (MK, The Evil Clown, KFC, Swensen, Chester's etc.). A few more misc. market stalls outside too. Further up towards the khlong (towards Pra Khanong) are some outdoor restaurants including an all-you can eat barbecue place and a steak house that I have yet to visit.

On On Nut itself is Carrefore with some indoor market stalls, again the usual suspects and a useful household junk stall outside in the indoor car park (if you know what I mean...) where I get my little hand towels to deal with perspiration on the move.

Between Suk and Carrefore is a street market with the best jack fruit (kanoon) in BKK and a decent, old-style gent's barber's shop (SB&S - 60THB 8^) ).

Opposite Carrfore are some useful hardware shops for tools and fittings and down an alley is a market witch seems to have mainly household stuff (mops, buckets etc.) and a clothes market that I have yet to explore.

Not really worth a special trip, but if you are passing through, set aside an hour or too for a stroll.

Thank you for all your detailed replies, i would also like to know whether there is a Levis outlet at On Nut

The Levis outlet that I assume you are referring to is located in Bang Jak area, between On Nut and Udom Suk.

Its on the corner of Sukhumvit soi 99, the soi you go down to renew your drivers license, you will see the signs written in both Thai and English directing you on the corner of the soi as you approach it, the Levis outlet shop is on the other side of the soi, sign written in English, so hopefully you wont miss it.
