Phuket Vs. Central America Or The Caribbean

Featured Replies

I have lived in Phuket before and liked it very much. I am considering moving back.

I am also thinking about living in Central America (possibly Costa Rica) or somewhere in the Caribbean.

I am interested in hearing the opinions & experiences of people who have lived in Phuket and also C. America or the Caribbean. Which do you prefer and why?

Thanks!

If you don't know why Phuket is miles ahead of those crappy places nothing we can tell you will make any difference. (tried to put a smiley) but no cigar.

I met two guys last year up at the windmill near Nai Harn.

They were here on vacation from their lives in the Yucatan Peninsula.

They were retired Americans living as expats there.

They were saying how everything seemed about the same for expats living here to them except perhaps the girls were prettier here.

I'd go and check it out for myself if i was seriously thinking about it.

Personally, i think the Thai people are friendlier although i've only really travelled in northern Mexico and 4 countries in South America. (and Thai food is better)

Hi Bin Kata,

I will say hands down Phuket beats that region with ease.

I have travelled fairly extensivly through out Costa Rica, Panama

Honduras, Belize and Mexico. Sure there are some very nice areas

in this part of the world. I also agree that Spanish is a lot easier language

than Thai.

However the people, the food and the general feel of Thailand puts

it way in front. This is only my opinion. As already stated go check

the place out first and see what you think.

But Iam pretty sure you will be back to Phuket/Thailand :o

Cheers, Scabo
