Oh, about the gramophone music, do you have a gramophone? I love that sound also, and when my grandmother died, she left me a lot of very old gramophone records that are now in storage, but no gramophone (she did have one, but i dont know where it went). I once went looking for a gramophone, but gulped at the prices, so, decided another time!

Hmm..some very basics things that i like are cats..adore them actually..dont know what it is about them, but I love everything about them. Im also a coffee addict, before was black expresso, but in Thailand its iced coffee (far FAR more calorific >.<). I also have a strong love of nature. Hopefully at some point I will be brave enough to put down roots again, get a small home somewhere in the countryside, somewhere with a garden where i can grow flowers and fruit and veg (I enjoy gardening, even weeding, find it peaceful and therapeutic), and somewhere I can have cats again. I also dream of having a solid family and having kids, but right now things are just not steady enough. Ah well..hopefully will get a more concrete idea about what to do about all that ...soon..ish..

Awesome - dusty pink roses, travel writing, great picnic food and funky nail varnish coming right up! I have a thing for nail varnish as well. I also love very rich, tasty olives like the Kalamatas soaked in wine vinaigrette. And of course, like you, I love to travel and explore new cultures. I am exploring my Eastern European side lately since I was adopted and didn't grow up with this part of my ancestry. That reminds me - I love kielbasa and good beer!

My mother is now on oxygen 24 hours and her time is limited.

However, she is 87yo and smoked heavily for most of her life so the outcome was not unexpected.

Yes, just had further news, she is very poorly, still with it mentally but is refusing further treatment. She is in full control of her mind, just as she hoped & this is how she wants to go.

Prayers, thoughts, good wishes, whatever you believe, send them to her & hope they ease her journey.

I fully understand where she is coming from in her decision, please let her know that my thoughts and (I am sure I can speak for everyone here) everyone else's are with her and her family at this time.

My thoughts and energy are with Seonai, if not in flesh then in full spirit. I am sending her warm thoughts, happy memories, and comfort.

I could be all wrong and sorry for this question im just curious how it is aranged in England and in Thailand for that matter i come from a country where it is possible.

I hope people will forgive me for this question for it is a sensative one.

I am not a religious man but i hope things go well for Seonai and that she isnt suffering too much.

Seonai has come to realise that there is little more to be done and has made all her plans and sees little point in delaying the inevitable with further treatment.

I would ask that we don't turn this into a debate on these issues.

I wont debate the issues i was just curious about the how and why. I did not know this and now i know why she is refusing treatment.

AFAIK, Seonai is a Buddhist and so the ideal way to go is with a clear mind (as opposed to being confused, drugged to the eyeballs or unconscious). That seems to be what she is trying to do.

We had much correspondence and she sent me some photos of her and some of the other ladies from tv. Happy days.
