A Wing And A Prayer...

Can anyone explain how this could be possible??? :)

It would probably take a real pilot to do that.

But my best guess would be, he was approaching the ground with tail down and nose up (luck, doubt it) he applied full throttle to keep it that way until the distance between him and the ground was minimal, he then throttled off (you can hear that from the engine noise) put that little flappy thing on the end of the left wing up to force it down and came down horizontal.

Whatever, no luck involved, that is one skillful guy.

(and he must have ice flowing through his veins)

I'm not convinced that it is real, but......

It is suprising just what some planes can do at times, even the hercule's has a tactic which involves an almost vertical dive to within feet of the ground (To avoid AA fire).

Also the plane in the video is clearly one that is specifically designed for shows/stunts and so may be able to do odd things anyway.

But if it is real, then I echo the sentiment of.... <deleted>?????

I love the way the word THRILL is written on the side of the plane!!! I would think POO is more appropriate.

In the opening frames it never occurred to me that it wasn't a model plane. Then it seemed to become a real one.... Do videographers have a version of PhotoShop as well?

Real

Anyone who has ever seen my missus in the Hyundai will attest to cunning stunts.

Darn, it is blocked here so I can't see it.

What is it?

From your vague descriptions I am wondering if you all might be referring to a video I saw once in an email.

I have dug around and found what I think it might be.

Am I correct? (I am pretty sure I am).

It's been done before - admittedly in bigger kit

i cannot see how this is real !

Well guess what...............

I can't comment on the reality or otherwise of the video, other than to say these air-race aircraft have huge control authority to enable the rapid direction changes required of them. It's just possible that it's real.

Remember that our German friends actually designed asymmetric aircraft for special purposes, the best known being the BV 141 http://www.geocities.com/asymmetrics/bv141tip.htm

That's an amazing link crossy, thanks. Ya live and learn!
