I live here on a retirement (one year) visa and would like to leave Thailand for a holiday in Cambodia. I don't want to fly there but would like to cross the land border in Trat/Koh Kong.

Where do I get a reentry-permit ?

I live in the north of Thailand.

What if I want to take the boat from Chiang Khong/Huay Xai to Luang Prabang?

Can I get a reentry-permit at the border?

I think you can get a re-entry at any immigration post where you are able to exit Thailand.

Wait for Lopburi to reply to be sure thou.

Believe it must be done at a full immigration office rather than just a border check point - you really should get at the office that provides you your extension of stay to be sure.

I think you have to go the Immigration office that holds your files.

Where should I write down the reentry permit number on arrival card of immigration?

Same place you would write your visa number.
