February 23, 200521 yr Say a Honda 50. I know it is probably a very stupid question. Please forgive me.
February 23, 200521 yr Best thing to do is get yourself an International Driving Permit for everything from surf boards to jumbo jets and "cover your back" In Thailand a full driving covers you for in Country use, keeps the fuzz happy and is a better bet for your insurance company. Your national Lic. (UK -EURO-or whatever) although widely used ,accepted, looks good and is technically 100 % the bees knees will /could come unstuck if you have an accident. Lots of guys have been driving around for years on said Nat.Lic s without any obviously problems...but..... The Inter.Permit basically says that you have a D.L.from your own country with Recognised approval by the Thai Government (international sigs to the Geneva-UN Convention on recog of Inter Dr.LiCs.etc) so when you arrange your insurance from the many reputable Thai insurance Cos(not all are..supprise-supprise) then you should have No problem when you have to stand up in Court on that fatefull day (hopefully never happen)and prove that you have done everything correctly by the book with the paperwork.... (might still end up in the po-key but at least you will have right on your side) Dont forget LOS dosnt just have road accidents it comes under the heading of GENOCIDE
