My work permit is already approved. i will pick it on 13th August. still i hold a NON - O (Multi) visa. what i am thinking is if i go out of thailand and when i come in what do i write to fill the arrival form? purpose of visit as employment or tourism?

i will get my one year visa with multi entry permits but before that i have a trip on hand..

It doesn’t really matter what you put on the arrival card but personally, I would tick “Others”. If you tick “Employment” the immigration officer might ask for your work permit.

With “one year visa with multi entry permits” I assume you mean an annual extension of stay with a multiple re-entry permit.

Maestro, thanks for the reply.

I got just a NON - O Multi Entry Visa which i have taken at Colombo on February this year. every 90 days i did the visa run..but since i have a company set-up in bangkok I applied for a work permit on 30th July. Without any problem they accepted my papers and asked me to pick the WP on 13th August.

I have not applied for a extension of visa for 1 year based on marriage. i will do it in September after my trip to Maldives. So i was just wondering on arrival card where to tick upon arrival back to bangkok. If i tick employment and if the immigration ask for my WP it will be available with me.. so depending on what you have replied it sounds like ticking either tourism or employment will not have any problem for me.

You have a wife; I would check "others" on that card - if I even filled it out - believe many just leave that page blank. I have the old card stock and have never used this new version.

I have never been asked to show WP at immigration by ticking "Employment" on the arrival card. But as you hold Non-O visa and are married I would concur it is perhaps more logical to tick "Others".

Seeing that the OP has his wife in Thailand I agree that ticking “Other” would be correct, but as others have said it doesn’t really matter, even if you leave it blank. I believe that information is only used by the tourism department, for statistical evaluation.
