Pattaya, August 4 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : Just after 4am on Tuesday, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chalermgiet from Dongtan Police Sub-Station was called to the Sukumvit Road opposite the Pattaya Floating Market in Jomtien to investigate the aftermath of a fatal road crash involving two Russian Nationals. At the scene, officers inspected the body of Khun Somshai aged 23 who was killed after his motorbike was hit by a Bronze Chevrolet Pick-up driven by Mr. Omar Mirzer aged 28. Miss Ivanova Inina aged 26 was the passenger in the pick-up and both were rushed to the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya suffering from multiple injuries. Witnesses told Police that the motorbike was being driven at a relatively slow rate of speed and in the correct manner. The pick-up was alleged to have been driven erratically and at a high rate of speed. The larger vehicle clipped the rear of the slower moving motorbike causing the driver to be thrown to the road. He collided with the curb and was killed instantly. The pick-up rolled over onto the pavement and hit a concrete pylon which brought down power cables, causing a further hazard for rescue workers to deal with. For now, Police are unsure if the Russian pick-up driver was drunk or driving erratically to impress his partner. Police will interview the pair when Doctors permit them to do so. If the witness accounts match the evidence collected at the scene, Mr. Mirzer could be charged with reckless driving causing death.
