So,

Do you think Thaksin will ever be Thailand's PM again?

I honestly don't know. I think the odds are against it because of his legal problems, but on the other hand, a violent revolution could instantly wipe out those problems.

What is YOUR prediction?

As far as I am aware Thailand is a constitutional monarchy, which means only the monarch can hold the position of Head of State. Thus, Thaksin has never been, nor never will be the head of state in Thailand.

In Canada, for instance, we have responsible government and the Head of State in Canada is Queen Elizabeth II.

You are correct. Sorry for the error. He has never been head of state of Thailand as you explain. I have requested that mods change the wording. Now I know how Joe Biden feels everyday ...

No, not because of the legal limitation but because too many groups aware that the Thak in power means disaster for them.

After the Democrat it's more likely that the ex-Thak's boy (Newin), the present puppet (the PPP) and the slippery (like Banharn) will join (dark) force... without the Thak.

These know how to make dirty money like the Thak so why the Thak as big boss again? They just suck the Thak dry and got the vote for themselves.

The very sad part of all this, Is that Thaksin is a very clever man. (no one can take that away from him)

If he had really worked as PM for the good of his country and people instead of trying to line his own pockets.

Who knows what Thailand could be now? It's not possible but if it was and he was to come back as PM and work truely for his country and people. (to eridicate corruption within the system)

I am sure many of you (myself included) would think so much better of him.

As it stands now he will never change, False love for his country, Only real love he has is for wealth and power.

clever man?, you think so?

he engineered a fraud that was so obvious that even a Bangkok policeman could see the paper trail, then he left the proceeds of the fraud behind to be seized by the authorities

real smart guy.........

I think that was more due to him becoming complacent. i believe even einstein made a few miscalculations in his time.

What he left behind was only a small part of his fortune.

Yes - Mr T will be a back running the business of thailand as PM some day. I think a certain situation will occur which will open the door so to speak. :)

Mr T is well loved by the majority of thailand :D apart from muslim South and the Bangkok Elite.

He is also well hated. A very divisive figure. Who needs that?

I agree he may take power again (he's still alive and KICKING) but the only way he will do that is with an iron fist. Why people think that would be a positive development defies reason.

I agree 100% with Brit.

With this certain situation upcoming MrT has a very strong hand. I believe that he'll be back and more powerful than ever with support from the masses & deals made at the top.

Both myself and my wife (including her family and mine) used to think the sunshine came from his rear.

Not anymore we hope he never comes back to thailand other than to rot in jail.

If he could change and work for the good of thailand then ok we would accept him.

That is not going to happen so it is good riddance Mr Toxin.

MrsT isn't my favourite older lady (Monica Bellucci perhaps...), but young MissT is quite lovely; and a very nice young lady apparently.

Time what is time? but only the ticking of the clock.

Thaksins clock is running low on battery and if he bought it in a farang country. i hope he assumes it's a farang responsibility to replace it. (it won't happen)

Sorry may be this should have being posted on another thread.

Not a matter of "if", but "when". And for us it won't be soon enough, as he was railroaded out illegally. I wish more foreigners knew the

"real" or "whole" story instead of only hearsay and speculation. There doesn't even need to be a vote, because in our hearts he is still our

Prime Minister, and if there is a vote, he will win anyway. He was illegally pushed out, and we know it, and our nation needs him back so we

may progress as we did before. Our nation has been in chaos and stagnation since PM Thaksin was illegally removed. It's time to move

forward again.

He won't be back. Most of us foreigners do know the whole story...how he bought and coerced the justice system in 2001. Illegally bribed his way out of a so-called "misunderstanding," in order to avoid jail time. If he has the spine to come back, he'll be where he belongs....rotting in a prison.
