Near Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Featured Replies

The Highway Police notified the Special Branch Police in Chiang Mai that a farang riding solo on his Harley Road King had a near fatal accident about 50K north of Nakhon Sawan either Sunday or Monday. We are guessing he came to Chiang Mai for Bike Week and may have been returning to Bangkok when the accident happened. Information is sketchy but we do know his name is John *****. He's in critical condition at a hospital near Nakhon Sawan. His bike is at the police station in Khanuworalak.

If anyone knows this person please contact the police in Khanuworalak to get info regarding hospital and give family contacts.

His name is Richard ***** and he is fine. Small operation on his knee and some cracked ribs, thanks or all your concerns.

His name is Richard Rhodes and he is fine. Small operation on his knee and some cracked ribs, thanks or all your concerns.

Hmmm..sure it's the same guy? Injuries and name quite different.

110% sure. Richard **** ****. The accident in question was indeed severe, however he is extremely lucky guy considering his safety gear consisted of nothing more than the usual Harley Davidson macho crap. He is now under no illusions to get the right gear!

This is good news. I contacted the Special Branch here in Chiang Mai and they called back to Khanuworalak and confirmed we're talking about the same man. Best of luck for a quick recovery and hope to see him up here again next year. Ride safe.

Glad to hear is is sorted out and everything is relatively well.

As we are sure about the identity of the person i will remove the name from the posts for privacy reasons.
