Back again with a few more questions! trying to save money due to an awful budget, and have calculated that this year i will only be in Thai for 4, maybe 5 months so i am investigating the tourist visa option.

Firstly.. how much is the admin fee i have read so much about at the embassy in Hull? the visa forms still list the £28 fee so i guess they haven't been updated in a long time...

I will only be in Thailand from March 21st - May 18th, then from June 7th - August 7th so by my calculations 2 x 60 day single entries will cover it? Or should i get a double entry and that would be possible? If i return to Thai after this then it will be October time, and i'll probably just go for the 30 day on entry so that isn't a problem....

Do you guys recommend getting the tourist visa here.. or my other option is i have 3 days in KL before i fly to Langkawi, then i will go overland to KPG.. should i just pick up a tourist visa enroute? What are your experiences with this?

My second tourist visa will be from Bali.. is this as straight forward as it seems?

Thanks for letting me tap your brains for knowledge :D i will now retreat to my refresh button!

You will only get the 30 day visa exempt stay if you hold a confirmed outbound airticket within 30 days of arrival in Thailand. Without either a visa or that outbound airticket airlines are unlikely to carry you. Apply for a double entry tourist visa at the Royal Thai Embassy London. There will not be any administration fees at the Embassy for issuance of your visa.

Thanks for the reply :) i will arrange transport out of thailand before i re-enter in october then :D

Do you know what the turn around is for the embassy in London? I am there next week, but only for 2 days and i live too far away (Suffolk) to yo-yo backwards and forwards!

From memory I think the Thai Consulate in Liverpool are not charging admin fees and their turnaround by post is not bad. I maybe posted a link here a few months back but Google will get you there. Another option anyway if they're still not charging.
