Pattaya Beach Clean-up: Beach Beds Restricted

Pattaya, the 3rd of February 2010 [PDN]: Pattaya City Deputy Mayor Mr. Ronkid Ekasing and various municipal officers proceeded to Pattaya Beach this morning in order to measure and subsequently propose change to the laws regarding beach bed operators. At present the various operators severely restrict the amount of beach space available for recreational use and as such the Pattaya City council has realised the need for change in regards to the law surrounding the beach bed operators.

The beach turf wars are hotting up.

This has been causing a lot of problems for Russians in Pattaya and Jomtien as well, becasue they want to lie in the sun and the beach chair concessionaires are taking over the beach, meaning the Russkies have even less space to lie in, as more of them flock to the already postage stamp sized non-chair beach areas.

Some Russian tourist agencies have been complaining to the powers that be.

I heard some amorous Ruskies, unable to find suitable beach space for their romantic trysts, have even been forced to find available space in the sea - but that's usually at night.
