Australian Tourist Caught Up In South Pattaya Baht Bus Pickpocket Case

Featured Replies

Complaints regarding thefts by organized gangs of thieves on Baht Buses continue to pour in at Pattaya Police Station. Late on Tuesday Night, a report came in of a suspected robbery involving an Australian Tourist by two Thai women on a Baht Bus, in front of the VC Hotel on the Pratamnuk Road in South Pattaya. Mr. Nezir Nezirovski aged 50, holding an Australian passport alerted members of the public to the alleged theft as the two women left the Baht Bus. They were detained until Police arrived and were found to be in possession of 16,000 Baht which they later confessed to stealing from a pocket on his short trousers. Everyone concerned made their way to Pattaya Police Station where the two women aged 29 and 38 who are in fact Sisters, were found to have been previously convicted of similar crimes. Both were charged with theft and are awaiting a court appearance.

I can't imagine that the general public would detain these two ladies based on one tourist's word...WoW. I guess it must have been his friends or other tourists on the bus (the blue pick ups?). Also, uusually you'd expect the girls to give 15,000 to the police in return for being found not guilty.

Good on the Aussie lad. :) I've seen these sorts at work.... try to converse and get right up on you. Best to back yourself against the cab and protest yourself on the otherside with both hands.

When riding the baht bus, always be extra careful if any woman with a large over the shoulder bag gets on. These are usually the ones doing the pickpocketing.

Thats a bit of a bummer , they will have to share the takings with the Po lice

How did he get them detained? I had a similar experience but there were no other passengers onboard by the time I confronted them, no cop around, and I suspected the driver was in on it. Yes regular non-attractive women (real ones) with really large shoulder/handbags in groups must be watched very carefully.

^funny thing is the ones I have encountered were aware I was on to them. Hopped off after only on it for maybe 500ft. :)
