A huge number of locals and expats are astonished that there will be no Exit/Entry at the at the Chaiyapornwithi Road (also known as Crocodile Farm Road) crossing of the new Highway coming from and going to Pattaya on Sukhumvit Road. For people living in Pattaya East, the traffc encountered travelling to and from Pattaya East to Pattaya and back is a major issue and problem and they are calling on the government to provide this solution. Currently there is an Exit/Entry where the highway crosses near Chaiyapornwithi Road, also called Crocodile Farm Road, but only from and to Bangkok. It is not useable from and to Sukhumvit Road. The existence of such an Exit/Entry for cars going to or coming from Pattaya would remarkably increase the beneft of this new Highway extension.

There are fve thoughrofares to go east from Sukhumvit and cross the railway, from North to South these are: Chaiyapornwithi (Soi Crocodile Farm), Soi Siam Country Club, (Porn Praphanimit), Soi Nernplabwan (Soi Muslim), Soi Khaonoi and Soi Khaotalo. All these roads are traffc jammed with motorbikes, cars, trucks and three-wheelers and extremely dangerous to drive. All people living between Sukhumvit Road and Maprachan Lake have to suffer from this bad situation.

A Pattaya Times investigation found commuters travelling in cars having to wait for over 15 minutes to enter Sukhamvit Road in bumper to bumper, grid locked traffc during peak times at these intersections.

Apart from being frustrating it is also detrimental to the enviroment and air quality with these vehicles spewing fumes into the air.

Long time resident Dr. HansPeter Mack states "If we all really want to experience the main beneft of this new Bypass, than it should be mandatory to have an Exit/Entry ramp at this point too, a huge number of cars and trucks and buses would use the opportunity to get directly to the Maprachan Lake district as well as along the eastern part of the Chaiyapornwithi Road and its neighbouring areas as well as getting from there faster to the Sukhumvit Road."

Keith an eight year resident of Pattaya East told the Pattaya Times "When I frst moved out here, the traffc was only an issue if there was an accident and it was quite peaceful. Over the past few years there have been hundreds more houses built but without much improvement to infrustructure. It is getting worse all the time with more developement everywhere, I fear the traffc is going to be like it is in Bangkok before long."

Another 23 year resident of Pattaya, Toon, said "My family and I plan our day around the traffc now.

We only ever travel to the west side of Pattaya in peak times when we absolutely have no choice."

It's a wonder this didn't come by urgent Press release to George and then George obligingly post it for Drew, as in the other one about the alleged bar crackdown.

Also note the map extract is the one PAPPA did for City Hall, as it reminds us all in big type on the left, and it is the only tangible thing that has ever come out of PAPPA.

Toll-road? <deleted>

This may explain why there are no entries-exits as proposed by the locals/expats: nobody will pay toll for such a short distance!!

This may also cause a huge traffic problem on the Crocodile road, since this exit from Bangkok direction is the last before the toll booth.

Another great traffic solution down the drain because of ............

That's why the toll booths are there so that those benefiting from the new, faster access TO THE MOTORWAY actually pay for the new added convenience and those living locally do not clutter up THE MOTORWAY access when they are just popping over to Pattaya from the dark side for dinner and a hand shandy.
