Where To Live

Featured Replies

intending to start a course at Thammasat Uny in Aug - it's up near the Grand Palace. Where's best area to live? There doesn't seem much action round that area so would like to live downtown where you guys all get together, but don't want hellish commute to the Uny: the Skytrain and Subway don't seem to go there.

I thougt of using river taxis and living somewhere near the Saphan Taksin Skytrain station, near the river taxis. But I don't know the place well enough to say. Any advice welcome and thanks..... :o

Saphan Taksin is still a slap away from 'the action'. Live where you will spend most of your time. If money is short and you're on a budget you won't be out on the raz that often. If money isn't a problem - neither should the travelling. Maybe get a scooter, beat all the odds, brand new Bt. 30,000.

If you will study in Thammasat near the Grand Palace, not far from Sanam Luang (pramain ground) you will see Pra Pin Glow Bridge...over this bridge ...there are many condos and Central Department Stores, there you can stay with reasonable price too, it's nearest and convenient to take a bus or airbus tuk tuk. Find out some. My brother in law has a Printing office and he has room upstair and nobody stays, ( intended to stay with his family) but they have a big house across the Pin Glow Bridge) so they left that room empty. It's situated near Wat Saket, that is about 15 mins from Radjadamneon Road. If you are interested I shall get the information for you, whether he will rent it out or not. :D

Whats more dangerous health wise? Getting on a scooter in central Bkk or going with a BG?
