Hi

Im new to the forum and aswell as motorbikes, looking to buy my first bike so gonna get a used one.

im looking for kawasaki boss 175 (hopes its beginner friendly) not a very big fan of scooters, and the

price of a used kawasaki is pretty close to a new honda click, wave...etc.

So im wondering if its a good idea to buy a used bike, which might have alot of problem for a person with less

motorbikes experience, like i have change this check that and alot more i guess...+ paper work

and what kind of scams must i be aware of buynig a used bikes.

and if anyone in bangkok has one to sell please post the pics and the info.

Any advice would really be appriciated , Thanks.

Hi there,

Although the Boss 175 maybe beginner friendly ,but to ride in Thailand is a learning curve and you have to be sure to be alert at all times lookign everywhere and expect the unexpected...because it usually happens , the unexpected.

I think the Boss 175 should do the job fine . Since you want to make sure that your bike is fine and covered you might want to look at a new Boss 175...secondhand you should be fine too, but how to figure out faults if you're new to bikes? Maybe ask a mechanic or someone with good bike knowledge to check the bike you want to buy.

Scams....are not often found on local built bikes such as the Boss 175, normally scams are found at bigger(&imported) bikes with a forged or recycled green book(and claiming they are 100% clean books)- but that doesn't really apply to the Boss. Still, pay the bike after the transfer has been done ( at the department of land transportation) . On my recently purchased XV750 i did pay a deposit and the rest was paid after the transfer was done.

Would like to add, are you just interested in chopper style bikes? If so, there are quite a lot of Honda Phantoms around too. If you wish some other style too the Tiger Boxer 250RS /Boxer 200R here: http://www.tigersachsclub.com/tproducts.html may suit you , and there are more manufacturers such as zongshen/ryuka that also have chopper style bikes here: http://www.zongshenthailand.com/index.aspx

or Lifan here: http://www.lifanth.com/en/products-a-servi...le/cruiser.html

hope that helps,
