Swimming Pool

Featured Replies

I need a swimming pool to teach someone how to swim. Do any of the hotels allow unregistered guests to use their pool or should I utllize Ingdoi's pool. Not looking for a long term commitment as I am not sure how my reluctant swimmer will fare.

Thanks

Most hotels will allow none guests to use their pool for a small daily fee.

Having said that, I have no idea which hotels here have a pool. :)

Rim Kok has a nice pool and open.

Dusit Island has an even nicer pool also open for outside guests.

Wiang Inn and Wang Kam have pools but I don´t know about outside guests.

:D:):D

The pool at the River House hotel has a beautiful big pool and is usually quiet so ideal for swimming lessons, 100baht per person which includes a bowl of ice-cream. The pool at the Pimann Inn is also nice (saltwater too I believe), 80baht which includes use of the other facilities like gym, steamroom and sauna.

CVK School has an excellent teacher who does private lessons at a good pool on a housing estate on the old Wiang Chai Road. She taught both my step-kids to swim competantly during just one course.

Probably best to enquire at CVK office.

Three swimming pools not far from Mengrai statue, direction Wiang Chai:

There is of course always the officially sized swimming pool of the municipal sportstadium (20 or 30 Baht).

A very nice clean one is also the one at Central Park (Koolpunt housing project), I guess this

one is the one used by the teacher that Lannaman mentioned and recommended (40 Baht).

A little bit further on the same road, just before the curve, is an older 'mo-ban', also at the right.

It has a very nice pool as well of I guess twenty meters length (30 Baht).

Two other ones in the neighbourhood of the old airport:

Passing 'Barry's Golfcourse' uphill, at the crossing on the top going straight on, you will find

a small family style Ing Doi with pool and fittness thing at your right after I guess five hundred

meters (40 Baht?).

If you take to the right at the crossing on top of the hill you go in the direction of Bluesky, the Friday and

Saturday night pizza place. If you take to the left however and follow the road about six hundred meter you will

see the big building of the private sportscomplex in front of you. It has a nice big swimmingpool that

might be the only one in Chiang Rai with a curtain above it as protection against the sun (30 or 40 Baht).

Another one direction Thoeng (Sinthanee 2 and 3 area):

Coming from the superhighway taking the road to Thoeng you first pass Seaone at your left, then the wind mill

on your right, two bridges thus, Sinthanee three and then, yes then you take the little soi to the right in front

of the school and drive up mountain. Melanie Housing Estate (the Dutch Village) has a beautiful swimming pool.

Don'f forget the sunblock!

I learned my lesson again last week...

Limbo :)
