There a lot of practical aspects to sleeping with an employee that some people overlook. Cocktail waitresses for example make between 10 and 500 dollars an hour.

The duties for a cocktail waitress for 10 dollars an hour are about the same as 500 an hour.

It does not take a brain trust to be a cocktail waitress. I could even train Thai waitresses to be a decent cocktail waitress given the right incentives.

Cocktail waitress jobs for 500 dollars don’t grow on trees. There are lots of equal applicants for these jobs.

How the heck is a boss supposed to know who to hire? Draw straws? By any test or by appearance there is little difference. It is like a chorus girl who doesn’t have to dance. Long legs are a dime a dozen.

To give the bar manager a little time to breath normally the bartender usually does the cocktail waitress schedule because some stations make more money than others.

If the bartender is not sleeping with the cocktail waitress then he is getting a kickback from their tips and that’s kind of like stealing. Some places call the bartender the momma san.

Ah what the heck, I'll take a chance and tell a story. I was interviewing CW's and a part of the job was looking good in the uniform. Red push up top and short skirt with fishnet hose. Out of ten waitresses that I asked to try on the uniform 8 started to strip right in there my office. I of course directed most of them to the ladies room.

Actually Patsycat, I was doing exactly the opposite to that. By stating George is safe then I am indicating that because of sbk's high moral ground , that this type of thing is unlikely to happen.

It is not illegal to have consensual sex with your boss. It is illegal (unethical and yes immoral) for job security to be based on having sex with your boss. Using a position of power to manipulate an underling into sexual relations is unethical. Hiring an incompetent simply because you want to screw her and then firing her for her incompetence may not be illegal but is rather slimy.

If I had a boss that was hot, would I sleep with him? No, it is not a relationship of equals and having that kind of relationship will always lead to trouble down the line. I never slept with a co-worker, but then I think again, its a pretty stupid idea if you want to stay in that job. If you don't plan on staying and you like him, then so what.

I went back to school after Vietnam on the GI bill. There were a lot of older ex Gi’s in school at the time. I was taking a masters in Education.

Masters level courses were usually small in size and this one was about 20 people 18 men and two women.

The instructor threw us a curve at grading time. He said we had to come up with our own final grade and justify it to the class. The grade was to be based on our individual projects and class participation.

It was tough to justify your performance in front of your peers and there was very little BS tolerated. Especially since most of the class were older men, most married who had been through a war, not typical college kids.

It was a lively discussion as we all gave our opinions on each persons grade and established a consensus.

One of the women in the class had done little in the way of a project and attended class infrequently, we hardly knew her at all.

When it came her turn she stood up confidently and said, “I deserve an A because I had sex with the professor.”

There was silence at first. Then some smiles and a few snickers. The professor’s face was beet red.

Since I am about the same person now as I was in my 20’s I asked, “Anyone else screw the prof?”

No one had and the 18 guys agreed with her and voted to give her an A. The other woman in the class shook her head, was obviously angry and did not speak.

The point of this story is twofold. 1. The lady was using her god given talents to succeed. She was a bimbo and not bright but she was good looking. 2. As soon as the authority figure has sex with the subservient person the power relationship changes.

And so it is with bosses and employees. She may have slept with him to keep her job but after the fact she gets anything she wants if he expects to keep his job.

This does, of course detract a little from credibility of women in the work place because you never know whether she got to the top by ability or on her back. Unfortunately it is a fact of life.

I always hired women assistant managers and I always had sex with them. But let me assure you it was not their job security that was at risk. It was mine. If Barbara or Suzy wanted to leave work early or take a few extra days of vacation it was me who covered for her. I knew if any of my assistants blew the whistle I was history. You are right, of course, but in affairs of the heart it seems that lust wins out over common sense. Office romances are not very sensible, and neither are teacher - student relationships... but they happen all the time, everywhere. Although I was attracted to several women in an office I worked out of, I stayed away from any kind of relationship even though several women made it obvious that they were available. But, I was fortunate that I could work outside the office for most of the day and only came in at start-up and the end of the day.

It was the same when I was married and there was a little " Peyton Place" going on with all my wife's friends. I just tried to act dumb to the advances. I learned an early lesson in my teenage years not to stray off the straight and narrow... don't lie, cheat or steal. It WILL come home to roost.

None of us know all the particulars of the OP's topic and the sexy woman who got fired. Who knows the real reasons. My second wife was a very beautiful woman and several of her female superiors in the company they worked for (GM) were jealous of Maria's beauty and smarts. They always made it rough on Maria and it was quite obvious why it happened. The women realized that Maria was smarter than they were and viewed her as a threat for advancement in the company. All things being equal, male bosses will usually pick the most attractive woman as an employee.

It seems obvious that there is very little management experience in this forum. Try firing someone in today’s world. You better have your ducks in a row or you are going to loose a fortune.

Get real folks. There are thousands of bars in Thailand and primarily they are owned by men who are having sexual relationships with the female staff, who are in turn really running the bars. Why on earth do you think the service is so bad! Why do you think the bar owners can’t tell the DJ what kind of music to play? Lets say there are 10,000 bars in Thailand. Of those 10 are managed well and have good service. Those are the 10 that the boss is not sleeping with the help. The same goes for hotels and restaurants.

As a matter of fact why do you think the customer service in this country is so abysmal?

With the exception of the frequent posters on TV everyone else in Thailand is acting like bunnies.

I was running a resort for rich old people and all the waitresses were part time college girls mostly freshmen and sophomores 18 and 19 years of age. I never hired fat waitresses because they steal too much food so all the girls were slim. The uniforms were formal just above the knee black skirts with white aprons and black pantyhose. The old people were fastidious about appearance and would freak out if a waitress appeared with a run in her pantyhose. So I kept a stock of spare pantyhose. It got to be expensive.

I began to rant and rave at my two lady assistant managers about the pantyhose expense. I hinted there must be a better way to do it. They eventually came up with the idea of stockings and garter belts for waitresses so they could replace one stocking at a time. Imagine, the scene, Neverdie. 50 young college women flouncing around with nylons and garter belts. I could have never have pulled it off alone but the two lady assistant managers had no trouble convincing the girls of the utility the idea.

I must be a little Thai as I always liked to have fun at work. Neverdie you must have led a boring life. Don’t worry there is still time and after all you do live in Thailand , don’t you?

I have management experience and I had sexual relations with several employees during that time. But we were all still in school so there was never any of the problems you might have in the corporate world with careers at stake. Most of those ladies today are Facebook friends 20-25 years later so no bad blood between any of us.

It depends on the condition of the bottom bits. A general rule of thumb is if the boss doesn't get a raise, neither will you.
