At least our "tunnels" are hidden.

Yours might be but one doesnt have to travel far to see an open tunnel in Thailand

Tunnels are like Temples. The most interesting ones and ones truly worth experiencing are hidden away, and you have to make an effort to go visit them.

I've never come accross a hidden one yet. It seems they all appear easily enough with just the right amount of wine & words applied  . YOu know im right ;)

^ Your either Iooking in the easy pIaces, unbeIievabIy Iucky and charming and good Iooking, or bsing.

Which one is it?

..and for the record ive had combinations of unbeIievabIy charming and good Iooking (and even add weaIthy in there) make a pass at me, but, if a guy isnt prepared to get to know me and take his time...doesnt matter what he have to offer..he can bugger off.

Do i look hardup to you? Hold On, don't answer that one.

Looking in easy places - why not. I guess you could call me lucky, Charming-DEFINATELY, Good Looking - Of course, bsing - sometimes.

Comeon eek, turn it up, what did you expect me to say. ;)

This might be of interest to Neverdie.

I got a new stick of deodorant today.

The instructions said: Remove cap and push up bottom.

I can barely walk, but whenever I fart the room smells lovely.

This is why TV has become so annoying. If George would spend some of his many millions on keeping up with technology, we could have a scratch and sniff thread, specially for Ian. Road kill, his arse. the possibilities are endless........................

Based on that I hope George keeps his billions and doesnt invest in that sort of technology. Perhaps he can give his money to the tigers ;)

Nothing to say, nowhere to go, naff all to do. I think I'll collect farts in a jam jar to pass the time of day. Wonder how many it will take to blow off the lid. If you try to light it with a match what colour will the gas burn?

I'll crawl back under my stone now.

Yeah, yeah, red-orange.That answers my last question.

Cape York anyone? What a doofus......definately mans stuff tho ;)

That was pretty crazy, Neverdie. Thanks. Just shows the mentality of the 4X4 crowd. I've got friends who continually test the limits of their 4X4 trucks.

Ian, what do you mean by the highlighted part of your post above?

FYI, that vehicle is in the process of travelling the Overland Telegraph Line (OTL) on Cape York in Far North Queensland, Australia. The OTL is considered to be one of those 'not to miss trips' amoungst certain Australians. That section of the OTL (North of Bramwell Station) where this is utube vid is filmed is called 'Gunshot Creek Crossing' and there are only a few ways to cross that area, all of which are a little bit hairy for those who are inexperienced in 4x4ing and many fools come unstuck on that particular section. There is also another road that leads north/south along the cape, the Development Road however this road is also constructed of dirt/sand but is much wider and due to the high volume of 4x4's and large trucks that negotiate that road at times it is extreemely 'Corrogated and it becomes very unpleasant travelling on that road. Depending on the route you take it can be around 1000km (600 miles) from Cairns to the tip of the cape.

I completed the trip in 2002 and in fact I was one of the very first vehicles through for that season (can only be accessed in the dry season by vehicle) and on some of the River crossings I had water at windscreen wiper height. There is some absolutely amazing FISHING up there, Barras second to none (Need to take great care of the Crocs) & I am sure if you got the opportunity to do a trip like this one you may never want to leave. Awesome camping up there too. I am considering going back there one day, one day very soon :D .

Don't lump everyone into the same cateogry, Ive crossed gunshot, I managed to do it with no tears and no damage to the vehicle & clearly that guy in the youtube video was suffering from a case of NFI.

Heres the link for you......take care, its real mens business ALTHOUGH I can tell you from personal experience most the ladies have just as much fun ;)

A bit of barra action for you Ian, starts around 3:00 min.

I spent a bit over 3 months up there chasin barra & in some spots you need to get em in real quick before the crocs take them off your line. Actually one evening after a croc took a fish from me he chased me up the bank  fekker :annoyed:

That looks amazing ND. I think I would need a few months of training before facing that bike ride. Ian, of course, being so fit could probably start tomorrow. And Ian, think of all that fly fishing you could get in. I know they do quite a lot up that way. For me I want to go fishing in Arnhem Land (spelling?)where the fishing is supposed to be excellent but permits difficult to come by. Is it possible to fly fish for salt water crocs? :ermm:

Driving doesn't do anything for me. Probably because I haven't driven for 30 years and I like gazing out at what is going on around me all the time. Don't mind navigating tho' if someone can supply the transport.

The fauna of Oz greatly interests me too. They have some wild and wonderful insects and all kinds of weird marsupials, not to mention all those poisonous critters. Fun, fun, fun.

Better quality footage.

ps: alot of people think crocs won't swim in fast moving fresh water streams, rivers, falls.....check out these lovely ones near the end - smart fishers

Great little video, Neverdie. Thanks. I wonder if they will take a dry fly cast upstream? I think I might need a steel leader though. :o

I'm lookin at building up another touring rig at the moment, but as with the last one I normally only have 2 seats in them.........so you will have to fight my chef for the spare seat.

Years ago when I was still a drinking man my wife at the time had a bit of a whinge about the dust on one of my trips, anyway after that trip and whilst preparing for another one the misses came down to the shed to see what I was up to and I was busy building a new rack for inside my truck, she looked rather perplexed and asked me where I was going to fit that? I took her around to the passengers side of the vehicle and open the door revealing the cavity where her seat use to be positioned. I said, "Its going right there" The look on her face was priceless.

Anyway, I went to the Gulf, she went to France......I should of made it a one way trip....for either her or me ;) .

Ian, you're best off with a lead leader, with a high velocity propellant. Double 0 should do the trick. :)

Regards.
