Time perhaps to resurrect this thread, not for the way it ended, but for the thoughts behind its conception.

People are getting way to personal on issues that will never reach consensus due to ingrained, heartfelt beliefs.

Nice people are beginning to turn on each other and it will not end well.

There are a number of truths that can be learnt and keep in the frontal lobe which would bring a finality to the ad hominem. One such truth is that who we are is not the same as the ideas we adopt and subscribe to. Once that simple truth is fully understood can we realize not only the futility of ad hominem but moreso the destructive quality of it. That single elementary truth would lead us to finally respect each other no matter what ideas we profess. It would bring us to the understanding of the true relationship between us and ideas. It would further lead to a true understanding of what ideas are in the first place, and what an idea's real function is. And then, finally, we can learn to freely play with ideas rather than argue about them.

I have had enough of making posts in this forum calling for polite behavior. It seems some cannot heed these warnings or have chosen to ignore them.

Yes I admit, I have been guilty of that but I try to improve and learn.

Some of the post might look very aggressive but I can assure you I could have a nice meeting with the people that oppose my view here.

And I am almost sure that those people would agree.

My Rock Concerts and Ramadan threads were very civil. As a group maybe we could post some less controversial topics from time to time. I just hit my quota for the year so now it's someone else's turn.

So why not talk about the possibility of different dimensions and universes?
