I'd rather not post this in the language forum...so sorry to all Bedlamites that I post selfishly. Flame me for it if you feel like it...I probably deserve it.

Nonetheless, I'd rather friends read my post than the general public, and I have friends here.

A bit of background: I am the "titular" manager of a Thai restaurant. The owners had a bit of trouble with their visas and so asked me to be the "manager" so that work visa applications for their employees can be made by a Kiwi. They are a good couple, and so I have been assisting them in this way for a couple of years.

As a consequence of my "status" at the restaurant, I am made to feel very welcome. A while back, I was quite attracted to one of the staff, but she was married and I was going steady, so of course, I never said anything about it but I did detect some positive body language from her. She left that restaurant eventually, and life went on.

After I became single, I became good friends with one of the waitresses. A couple of weeks ago, she asked me out so as to set me up with one of her friends....well it was the lady that I had been attracted to! Her husband (Thai) had abandoned her last year and moved to Oz and she was finally coming to terms with it.

She's lovely and smart! I like her alot. Bonus points that she has permanant residency! But her English is very poor, as is my Thai.

I have alot of good Thai language resources both online and off, but still, I am a novice. For now, I would like to simply explain to her that whatever Thai I write, it's either my pidgeon Thai (easily recognisable), or words that someone else has written but I feel the translation is what I would have written. I don't want to appear to be good (when I'm not) but I have found songs, phrases, sentences etc in Thai that have been translated already, and I borrow them because the words are what I would say if I could.

So...could a kind person please find the time to translate into Thai the following (or the above even!). Much appreciated if you can.

"You know my Thai speaking and writing is not good. I'm sorry for that, so I spend alot of time searching the internet for translations of appropriate Thai words to say to you, or songs to sing to you. I did not write these words, but when I read the translation, they are words I think I would write or say if I could."

Just that one paragraph in Thai script would be very useful for me, please.

Almost, H. Thai words is a little closer though.

I use translation sites on occasions, sometimes they can be way out but usually give a general idea.

Google Translate is one.

Don't start with some kind of romantic stuff, save that for the bedroom.

Use a direct approach after you first meet saying: pom wang wa ja dai pob koon eek-krang (I hope we can meet again).
