I have the legendary Marantz Tubes of Pre am model 7 and Amplifiers Model 9 which my father bought in 1960's. If I want to sell them where should I direct to the collectors' sources? And what the prices are now.post-109263-073588100 1277379703_thumb.jpost-109263-045881100 1277379772_thumb.j

Sell them under classifieds here or let me know how much you expect, maybe I can hook you up!

Just a question, because of the age, I must ask you if you have given them an overhaul, meaning

tubes and capacitors (which both will fail due to age and usage).

Anyway - nice equipment, and they should, as long as they are mint give you a nice payout.

Prices are hard to tell, with equipment like this - you have to "put them out there" and wait

until you find someone who knows and appreciates classic pieces like these.

If you really need an idea about price, I would suggest that you check on "audiogon" bluebook, which tells

you the average price for any equipment.

Thank you very much for your kind reply.

Just for a guideline purpose, I have looked through Audiogon and some other websites as well as Japanese hifi websites which pricing are about the same ranges, except for the replicas.

You are absolutely right , if not to keep them as muceum pieces, replacing tubes and capacitors are needed considering their age. Mine are originals without overhual and physical condition is good 7-8/10 under light usage. I will try the classifieds here to see if any interested and I would be delighted to get contacts from ones who appreciate value of the products as you.

Thank you once again for your help,

Pzoom

They've lasted 50 years in original condition?

By Mine are originals without overhual .., I meant they are not the reissues and not yet been restored.:jap:

I don't know if you have powered them on, but if you are going to do so

I suggest using a Variac to slowly increase the voltage, rather than whacking in the full 220V
