The province of British Columbia, where I live, is over a thousand miles long and 700 miles wide. We have a Federal police force that precides over the whole of it. The topography varies from mountainous wilderness to dry belt, almost desert country. A good portion of the central part of BC is still free range land with cattle roaming the grasslands and cowboys attending them. In some of our central towns we still have the good old stampedes where the cowboys come to show off their skills of riding and roping. One of the more popular stampedes is the one in Williams Lake (population = 11,000). The stampede often turns into a 4 day pissup with people riding their horses into town and everyone having a good time. This is just one of the many news stories of the past few days.

</SPAN> Police office gets a complaint at 0230 this morning, "Disturbance outside the Royal Bank, main entrance". Two constables attend. There is a saddle horse standing outside the main door, its reins are running inside the door and end in the mouth of a comatose cowboy, laying on the floor, in front of the bank machine.

Police go in, shake the guy, he wakes up, says "Where am I ?"

Cops say "What are you doing sleeping here?".

Cowboy looks around, "Ooooooh yeah, I was getting money out of my account, so I could go through the Timmy's Donuts Drive-Thru. Just got sleepy, I guess"

So the cops help him get money from the machine and send him on his way. One cop turns to the other and says: "Should we tag him for "Care and Control?"

"Nope, horse doesn't exhibit any evidence of impairment at all, and I think it's pretty much in control !"
