Lizard2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 The main think is you sold most of it. Nothing worse than trying to sell when you are moving. Then having to give it away. Better for you to have some cash.
tigerbalm Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Glad you managed to sell most of your belongings, i just missed your add by a few days, otherwise i would have probably bought the whole lot, and the motorcycle. I have a add on the chiang mai asking if any body has or knows any one with the entire contents for sale as i would like to purchase, your add seemed to be the exact thing i was looking for and prompted me to place my add. Sorry to hear you are leaving but good luck all the same. Regards TB
sceadugenga Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Most western countries have a huge secondhand goods industry, particularly if you include charity shops. This doesn't appear to be the same here, Thais seldom seem to buy anything that's been used before. The Mrs was quite surprised and even a little contemptuous when I bought a secondhand DVD player off another member this week. The same seems to be very true of houses, they only seem to buy an existing house for the land and demolish it and rebuild. I think a few farangs find out this the hard way when they over capitalise on a property and then try to regain their expenditure when they sell. I don't doubt there are exceptions though.
