hi guys ... any idea about prices of genuine, un-used windows XP licenses in bangkok?

i dont necessarily need the software ... just the license key ....

my software would be german ... usually the license keys are international!

and second question ... how much is german edition of windows vista home or windows 7, incl. genuine, un-used license?

There are web sites that sell second hand versions of software like OS's, adobe suite,photoshop etc, legit. They are usually unregistered - they buy from companies that overbuy of have unused licenses. These are the cheapest unregistered legit ones I have found - though I have personally never used one. Win7 can be got from around the 5k mark up I believe - IT City and other big stores carry them - make sure you get a sealed box though otherwise it may well have had its serial number copied.

Also, be careful with XP Pro licenses, there were a lot of OEM versions that have specific key sets, so if your copy is OEM (or a copy thereof) or the license you buy is - or they are different SP releases etc, then the new license may be invalid for your software.

BTW, M$ offers (or used to at least) a pirate to legit servie where you an legitimise your copy with a purchased key (and a small app that wipes your current pirate key and forces you to re-register it - which is atually just a removal of two reg keys that you can do yourself if needs be).

IIRC (and it's been a while since I checked on it for a friend), MS charges (almost?) as much for that "service" as a new retail boxed version of Windows in a store.

you can find xp on ebay, cheaper than thailand for sure. if you tell the seller that all you want is the code then you can save on the shipping.
