You missed my point completely, koheesti. Try again?

No, thanks. It's clear you won't answer anyway.

O.K. If you say so.

Did you ever think that maybe you didn't make your point very well in the first place?

No.

I don't follow the international news at all, so I'mgoing to assume this is about Thailand.

These are revolutionary times. All over the globe men are revolting against old systems of exploitation and oppression, and out of the wounds of a frail world, new systems of justice and equality are being born.

Not much left to say. The pursuit of wealth and power by few at the expense of the many is ever the same. Where are men such as King today?

I think the answer to your question is nowhere or not yet born.

I think the answer to your question is nowhere or not yet born.

The speech was given April 4, 1967 and was specific to the Vietnam War, America's aggressions of the time in general. Interesting that you thought it Thai related. Same as it ever was?

I think leaders can pop up from just about anywhere at anytime. Someone could be nowhere on the scene and then be inspired by one event or another to enter as a player. Here now, just inactive.

Same as it ever was . . . perhaps not until America has completely destroyed and bankrupted itself - militarily, economically, and morally - will the veil of illusion be lifted. But I seriously doubt even then. I believe the deck chairs will simply be rearranged, similar to what has occurred with the former Soviet Union. I do not see in the least the necessary questioning taking place by the general populace of any of the core values which provide the locomotive force to the destructive events which continue to build upon themselves day by day.

I see so many who so desperately want change but believe that it is only the rest of the world which needs to change and never they themselves. Never understanding that were they to examine and change their own ideas in dramatic fashion that their world would change just as dramatically, even if the rest of the world were to remain the same.

BTW, had I been able to vote last election I would have unquestionably voted for Paul. McCain? Picking Palin for a running mate was the perfect summation of McCain. I don't believe any republican would have had a snowball's chance in hel_l. Obama? We may never again in our lifetimes see another pure politician as highly polished. A man who had accomplished nothing to date proclaiming himself as The One? :o He was, to me, as obvious a sham as a sham could ever hope not to be. The disgusting fawning over the man was incredibly telling of just how helpless Americans truly felt, how preciously little they believed in the power of their own individuality.

The fact that Paul was defeated, heck, the fact that he was almost completely shunned, ostracized by the media during the primaries, the legitimacy of his candidacy even directly questioned at one point during the debates, was very telling that America was not ready for change. The American people were oblivious in their understanding of what Paul was talking about, but the powers that be were well aware.

I find as usual I am in complete agreement with your views Tip ;)

As to the deck of chairs 100% true & same as it ever was folks like King or Paul would never be allowed .....Looking at McCain or Obama's top ten campaign contributors makes that clear. The only change TPTB would allow would be change that increases *their* power.

I would not be surprised to see that change be a world currency at some point in the future.

Because the only thing *they* could want is to control ever more. That control will always come back to currency of choice. Not that they do not have it now. Because really they do. While keeping the USD as the world reserve they have the power to control the world for the most part.

Even if the USD deteriorates they will have already hedged their bets either through brute military force via black flag events or through the IMF which they again for the most part control already.

So as to McCain / Obama nothings was ever possible. Just a choice of the left pocket or the right pocket of the same pair of pants.

You are right about Obama's slick campaign. Shows the power of the words...Hope & Change

Neither of which were anything more than hollow promises...Same as it Ever was ;)

As you also said Paul was not ever really allowed into the show. Not invited to most of the debates etc.

Lastly it is the people themselves who sadly need to be educated. The majority clearly still believe the old two party lines & do not bother to even look at the events.

Although it is not always ignorance. It is also the fact that many have their noses so firmly attached to the grindstone as they are too busy just getting their families fed that they only look up at election times & vote the party or the hollow promise.

Flying, you're a well known Ron Paul supporter around here, what do you think of his son? Is he just a younger version of Ron, or do his views differ in anyway? I know after winning in Kentucky earlier this year, there was some bit in the news about him and the KKK. I forget excatly what but it seemed like a quote taken out of context?

Yes I believe he is his fathers son.

Although I have not really followed his campaign as it is not something I can take part in given location. I am not a Kentucky resident.

I think the kkk problem you mention may have been leveled at his father ...no?

I remember a slur against Ron Paul during his 08 presidential campaign because he said the civil war did not need to happen to end slavery. He had said something about the cost being 600,000 lives of Americans regardless of whether they came from the north or south. If I remember right it was then suggested he was pro slavery which I think was just another twisted slur & trying to put words in his mouth.

Again if I remember correctly....they then went on to claim he was pro KKK because they then asked something to the effect of...If you found the KKK contributed to your campaign would you return/refuse their money.

Perhaps the Rand comment your thinking of is the time Rand said something like children of illegal Immigrants should not be automatically American citizens?

Both Rand & his father Ron are so anti big govt, that at times it comes across wrong & is usually twisted by the likes of Rachel MadCow :D

They will both give an interview to anyone even when they know it is basically just a rouse intended to trip them up or twist their words as Rachel & others like her see fit.

Of course time will tell how Rand Paul does & what his intents are but given his fathers record of speaking the truth regardless of popularity I doubt the apple falls very far from the tree.
