thaiowl
My wife was recently given an electric motorcycle which is powered by a 48v battery. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement battery plus a few 48v spares (headlight bulb and indicator flasher)? We live in Nonthaburi. ttakata
I'm not aware of any 48V batteries but I don't know much about electric bikes either. Still, I'm guessing your pack is just four common sealed 12V packs wired in series so it makes 48V total. I suppose a picture of your pack would help figure it out. BSJ
I concur, the 48V battery is usually just 4 x 12v batteries.
thaiowl
Ooops...you are correct. We couldn't take the battery compartment out because we didn't have a key. Once the locksmith did his job we opened up the compartment and there were indeed four 12V batteries wired in series. My wife found a supplier in Petkasem 19 and the bike works fine. However, I still need a 48V flasher and a 48V headlight bulb...any ideas?
BSJ
Pull one of the bulbs and check if it's 12V. The electrical system may have a step-down transformer for the horn, lights and flashers.
thaiowl
I removed the flasher and it said "48V" on it so I presume the lights are 48V.

thaiowl
48V bulb and flasher are available from http://www.senyu.biz/electricscootersparts%20.htm. The bulb I want is halfway down the page - "Big light Bulb 48V/10W/2 contacts". The flasher is further up the page - "Flasher 48V"
