Blackouts in Phuket this week

PHUKET: -- The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has announced scheduled blackouts in Phuket this week to carry out maintenance on high voltage power lines. Affected areas and times are as follows:

August 24, Kathu: Wichit Songkram Road from Soi Bang Thong junction to the Kathu District Administration Office, covering Bang Thong Village, Bang Thong Hill Side and Baan Pho Thong Village.

August 25, Chalong: West side of Chao Fah West Road from Soi Ban Klang covering Baan Bang Rae, Soi Bang Rae, Soi Yodsane 1 and 2, and Ananda Garden Hill Village.

August 26, Chalong: East side of Chao Fah West Road from Wat Chalong to Chalong circle, covering Soi Mae Lamai, Soi Tarn Namjai, Chaiyapruek L&H Village, Ladawan Village, Munthana Village, Prueksachart Lake View Village, Soi Pramote, Soi Thanuthep and Chalongsuk Village.

The blackouts typically last from 9am to 4pm.

The PEA apologizes for any inconvenience.

I understand the need for blackouts in order to upgrade the system but we have had at least 3 for the same works. The road is being lined with new power poles but looking at the placement it is quite obvious that the narrow sections of road on Chao Fa West will not be expanded.

The people of Phuket should be lucky to receive notice, at least it gives you time and preperation for Frozen foods ect or to scedule your day ( and at least you no the timing )

here in Samui they dont even bother to tell you , just cut the power
