Is No One Safe From Us Extradition

Featured Replies

Well just saw on the BBC that the US is requesting extradition of another Russian who has never set foot in the USA but is requesting his extradition for selling Stolen credit card info online from multiple servers in Russia.

Apparently he is a famous Hacker named BAAD and only got arrested when he went to France and was arrested by the French and the US were right on the case starting Extradition requests for him to be shipped off to the States.

Something is not right Here and pretty much means anyone can be extradited to the US if they request it and put enough pressure on the holding country

Yet US citizens that are criminals in other countries are safe if they get back to the US because the US will harbour them and refuse extradition.

You are right. Those bad American guys. Who cares how many people he has ripped off?!

So now the criminal responsible for selling stolen credit card numbers of innocent people is being made out to be the victim here.

Also, there are plenty of countries who will not extradite to the USA if there is a chance the criminal will receive the death penalty (which means he himself is a murderer). Too many tears flowing around here for the real criminals.

Not really but who made the US the world police authority

Polanski is another case they actually have a right to request that as he is a US fugitive afeter having commited a crime actually on US soil while in the US

Shit they will be requesting to extradite me soon for smoking a cuban cigar which is Ilegal according to the USA

Are you under the impression that the U.S. is the only country that extradites wanted criminals? :o

At one time it was common for the criminals to commit a crime in one state, cross the state line, and thumb their nose at the pursuers. Subsequently new enforcement agencies were created, laws were changed/modified, so the criminals started traveling to other countries. With present credit card theft/creation, hacking of bank funds, money laundering, etc which can involve many different countries, there seems to be a real need for world wide enforcement of certain laws. Someone has to point out criminal acts and prosecute them if they are affected by said criminal act.

Countries like Burma, Pakistan, Somalia, North Korea, etc do not seem to have the expertise, nor desire to go after the culprits. Yes , the US does seem at times, to overstep some boundaries but who do you suggest go after the bad guys?
